    Thank your for the info.  Just the kind of info I needed.  For the sake of simplicity I'll purchase a a/b/g card for the time being.

    PCEngines (http://pcengines.ch/order1.php?c=4) also have some mini-PCI cards with 802.11n support and Atheros chipsets. You could probably ask them about support in pfSense 2.0.

    thank you for help

    any way does not work :(  Easier was pluging WRT54G to DMZ and this way works ….... I believe the only way is buying some wifi card that is already checked with pfsense 2.0 and approved by forum.

    thank you

    OK bob, That worked and thank you…

    But it was kinda weird, I followed your instructions and lost contact to my LAN, I could still get a DHCP address but nothing was out there.

    So I plugged in my serial cable and reset the LAN IP.

    Looking at the interfaces I could see LAN was set to Bridge0 so I tried the WiFi again and walla! Just not sure why and why I had to reset the LAN to the IP subnet again.

    But hey, it's working and again thanks!

    To be honest, I didn't even know it was an option until you mentioned it, so I have no more ideas.

    @neonflx:

    ping -c 3 8.8.8.8 "network is unreachable"

    Suggests your wireless client doesn't have a default route.

    @neonflx:

    ping -c 3 www.google.com "unknown host"

    Suggests you can't access a name server - more than likely a consequence of the "unreachable" problem.

    What is the IP address of the pfSense WLAN interface? What response do you get if you ping that IP address?

    What OS is running on the wireless client?

    What Name Server are you expecting your wireless clients to be using?

    You could also do one box as an AP and the other in Infrastructure mode.

    @Cry:

    Sounds like you want to use Radius authentication. There are many free Radius implementations, you'll just want to ensure that you replicate it across each site.

    You can use a central radius server with several radius proxies too…

    From what I gather from reading your vague question… make it easy on yourself and put a separate NIC in pfSense.  Add a switch to that NIC.  Connect wired people there.  If wired and wireless AP / AP users can talk to eachother, work on your firewall.

    almost all netgears have a bridge mode (its hidden) some others do as well.

    What you do is:
    1. give router an IP you want it to have
    2. disable DHCP server
    3. dont use WAN port, plug pfSense into one of the LAN ports, you can use the other 3 ports as you see fit.

    Hmm, 'kay :)

    Btw, I am not sure how but got rid of the errors and the connection is not dropped and I can access pfSense's webinterface through the 552 ;D
    I couldn't do any speedtests, well, I could have tried but I don't think a speedtest between my phone and laptop would show the maximum :P
    (Just thought of the iperf package, but the computer I was trying this on did not have access to the internet.)

    At least I know this card seems to be working with pfSense ;D , eventhough the lack of N support, but hoping this might change.
    Now waiting for some antennas with cables (so that they do not have to be put away behind the pc case under the desk).
    The ANT24-0230 unfortunatly is not available outside of North America (and no shops willing to ship it here ???) so now waiting for some alternative I found on Ebay. :)

    Well, the initial systems made it look like a connection problem.  Mostly because the embedded devices(phone and ipod) didn't give good feedback.  It wasn't until I'd swapped the AP and got the same symptoms that I realized it was a problem with my bridging.
