    @Jesse7:

    Heh yeh,  but I don't post from that IP on these boards not that anyone could get my IP from these boards so no one has any way to find me :).

    Not that anyone from here would aye??? :P

    It's probably my short password that foiled whoever heh.

    Ever heard of automated random ssh scripts?  Doesn't matter who or where you are.  If you leave yourself wide open, they will find you.

    True,  it's probably what the above was,  I have fixed those two little problems anyways.  Thanks for the tips.

    Any card marked with a+b+g 108mbit is atheros based. 3com pci card is atheros based. if you check out google and search for atheros based cards you will find loads of them. But as I said, any 108mbit a+b+g card is atheros based. The madwifi guys maintains a rather large list of supported cards: http://www.madwifi.org/wiki/Compatibility

    After I upgraded to 0.93.2 I got some issues with dhcp client, after doing some tests the problem was due the NIC, replacing the WAN Nic to other vendor not 3COM, the problem was solved.

    I have to add that I'm running my 0.93.2 version since sunday with no problems, and the performance was really improved, I used to have a 60-80% CPU utilization with previous versions, but now it runs smoothly at 5-10% !!!

    I'm running TrafficShapping, NTop, and squid on the box, and everything is working superb…

    Congratulations again to the pfsense crew, outstanding job!!!

    Never said it did  :)  All I said was that it was the last event in the system logs.  But thanks for the input!  Hey, can I make a suggestion for the wake-on LAN bit, where you use MAC addresses.  A timing option so you can say to all the machines in the list wake at 9am (as an example)

    AIMsniff is also fairly limited and breaks almost everytime a new version of AIM comes out.  Also, if you look at the code for AIMsniff you'll see why its not really a good idea to run it on a critical network asset like a firewall.

    The bug reporter panel is now fully enabled in HEAD and should be MFC'd soon.

    @boktor:

    Hi all,

    My company whant's a redundant router solution. I am verry interesting in the solution pfsense because the inplementation of connection syncrhonisation (pfsync). But when i look at the system overview i see at state table size 52/10000. Is this meaning that the maximal of states in pfsense is 10000? Because we have a large company, > 400 hosts is 10000 for a state table not enought.

    10K states is the pf and pfSense default.  It can be changed in the advanced settings screen.

    @boktor:

    Has anybody experiance with a redundante cluster with carp and pfsync in a large company as seen on http://www.pfsense.com/mirror.php?section=tutorials/carp/carp-cluster-new.htm?

    Not with pfSense, but yes.  I've been running such a setup on OpenBSD 3.5 since it released, no complaints and am looking forward to my next upgrade (which will probably be OpenBSD 3.9, not pfSense).

    @thinair:

    I was wondering if it's possible (way in the future) to have pfsense dial out using a dialup modem (internal preferably) when the WAN link goes down.  And have it either to dial out automatically or manually, user specified.
    I understand you guys are busy, so it's more of a wishlist item.

    I don't have any plans on doing such a feature so another developer would need to pick this up.

    @submicron:

    Apparently this question has been asked before, but I cannot find any mention of it.  Why won't cntrl-c work on the pfsense shell to break out of a running process (like ping, for instance)?

    Due to the way I reworked the interfaces.  I am looking into somehow faking the tty and thus getting job control back.  For the moment if you need to run commands that require CTRL-C I would suggest SSH'ing into the machine.
