        Do this:

         WAN (wan)       -> em0        -> v4/DHCP4: 172.21.16.133/24
         LAN (lan)       -> vtnet1     -> v4: 192.168.184.1/24

         0) Logout (SSH only) 9) pfTop
         1) Assign Interfaces 10) Filter Logs
         2) Set interface(s) IP address 11) Restart webConfigurator
         3) Reset webConfigurator password 12) PHP shell + Netgate pfSense Plus tools
         4) Reset to factory defaults 13) Update from console
         5) Reboot system 14) Disable Secure Shell (sshd)
         6) Halt system 15) Restore recent configuration
         7) Ping host                         16) Restart PHP-FPM
         8) Shell

        Enter an option: 2

        Available interfaces:

        1 - WAN (em0 - dhcp, dhcp6)
        2 - LAN (vtnet1 - static)

        Enter the number of the interface you wish to configure: 2

        Enter the new LAN IPv4 address. Press <ENTER> for none:
        > 192.168.100.1

        Subnet masks are entered as bit counts (as in CIDR notation) in Netgate pfSense Plus.
        e.g. 255.255.255.0 = 24
             255.255.0.0   = 16
             255.0.0.0     = 8

        Enter the new LAN IPv4 subnet bit count (1 to 32):
        > 24

        For a WAN, enter the new LAN IPv4 upstream gateway address.
        For a LAN, press <ENTER> for none:
        >

        Enter the new LAN IPv6 address. Press <ENTER> for none:

        Enter the start address of the IPv4 client address range: 192.168.100.10
        Enter the end address of the IPv4 client address range: 192.168.100.100

        The IPv4 LAN address has been set to 192.168.100.1/24
        You can now access the webConfigurator by opening the following URL in your web browser:
        		https://192.168.100.1/

        Press <ENTER> to continue.

            You just need to set the LAN to a different subnet. I'm not sure how you managed to install the Realtek pkg with conflicting subnets like that. You can start over if you want.

                    Ok great.

                    Use console menu option 7 to try to ping out from pfSense to 8.8.8.8. Then test to google.com

                    If either of those fail what error is shown?

                        Ok, great so pfSense cannot connect out.

                        So in the pfSense webgui check Status > Gateways.
                        I assume it shows 192.168.1.1 as the gateway?
                        Does it show the gateway as down?

                        Go to Diag > Routes.
                        Does it show a default route for IPv4?

                            @Spectrum said in Hardware driver:

                            192.168.1.xxx

                            That is a private IP address there is no need to obscure it.

                            @Spectrum said in Hardware driver:

                            LANGW gateway: 192.168.100.1 status suspended

                            You should not have a gateway on LAN. Go to Interfaces > LAN and remove it.

                                  Ok upstream gateway is correct.

                                  Go to System > Routing > Gateways.

                                  Make sure there is only WAN gateway. Remove a LAN gateway if it shows there.

                                          Set the IPv4 default gateway to WAN_DHCP.

                                          The delete the LAN gateway.

                                            @stephenw10 good morning. last night i turned off pfsense and unplugged the wan cable, today i turned on and plugged the cable in and it gives me connected. i went into the settings it said and it no longer gives me re0 (lan) as default. i don't know what is going on in my settings, but i am sure if i turn off or reboot now it will give me the problem again. how can i save these settings?

                                            IPv4 route
                                            127.0.0.X lo0
                                            192.168.1.X/24 re1 (wan)
                                            192.168.1.XXX lo0
                                            192.168.100.X/24 re0 (lan)
                                            192.168.100.X lo0

                                            Now only in ipv6 I see the wan in default, like this:
                                            IPv6 route
                                            default xxxxxxxx%re1 re1 (wan)
