Just throwing this out here. If you cannot change the battery replacement date from the console (like me!), you can download a copy of APC's PowerChute Personal Edition and use it to set the date from a Windows PC.

I have UPS attached to pfsense netgatge 2100 - I am aware of powerchute software - the only problem is I have to take a WINDOWS PC / LAPTOP and then install the software and connect to the battery. I might do this if 16 hours have passed. Any way thanks for the suggestion

How to reset BE850G - any idea ? The manual does not detail how to reset

From link I've posted above. In case you didn't read that or missed:

        instructions from APC's e-mail support:

        1. Disconnect any attached load.
        2. Turn off the UPS
        3. Unplug the UPS from the wall socket.
        4. Disconnect the UPS internal battery.
        5. Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds.
        6. Reconnect internal battery.
        7. Plug UPS in to known good power source.
        8. Turn the UPS ON.

I am aware of the above instructions for Easy-UPS - unfortunately I guess this does not apply to BE750G unless somebody says I am wrong!

It's the same for the back series UPS.

Do the 16hrs already have been passed?
If yes then you should try what @provels recommended to do.

@dennypage This is what worked for APC battery ES 750G FYI

                      • Installed powerchute software in windows machine. Connected the APC

                      • Ran self test

                      • Changed battery date (battery date not possible to change using NUT command line upsrw)

@netboy Your UPS battery fun caused me to take a look at the array of UPS devices I have and found the unit on my wife computer had a dodgy battery (aborted self test). Installed new battery and it now passes.

I have two others that I still need to dig into.

Thanks for prompting me to look at my own stuff!

I wanted to document my experience so that it will help others if they encounter similar problems. Many folks in this forum helped me a lot and I am very thankful.
