No dhcp leases pfsense Qemu
-
I installed pfsense in Qemu as vm but I cant get the dhcp server to give ip's to clients.
I created 2 bridges (virtio) in virt manager, the wan and lan is setup as vtnet0 and vtnet1.
Firewall lan rule any. Block private networks unticked. Dhcp server active. -

Did you check "Disable hardware checksum offloading" in System > Advanced > Networking?
This is required for running pfSense virtualized on KVM.After checking the option and save you have to reboot pfSense.

@viragomann It's unfortunately not that. I tried so many things it's getting ridiculous. It worked for a brief time weeks ago.

Run packet capture on the interface, where the client is connected to, to get an idea, what's wrong. The DHCP communication is fully readable.
At the port filter select "any of" and enter "67 68", start the capture and reconnect a DHCP client.
Then check the output. -
@viragomann It started working by itself so now I don't know why, but I think your suggestion of disabling hardware checksum probably did it. I restarted everything and it works fine now. Thanks you saved me from jumping out the window.

Glad to here, it's working finally.
Yes, I had the same issue in the past, when setting up my pfSense on KVM. I had also to disable hardware checksum offloading.
