DHCP - Static Mapping
-
I´ve setup the DHCP Server with the range 192.168.0.100~192.168.0.199. I would like to setup some static mappings within this range, however the GUI doen´t permit, its permit only mappings out of this range. This is a bug?

Please show the error message that the GUI is displaying.

This is known behaviour. m0n0 does it the same way iirc. Not sure if it is a limitation of the dhcpd to have a non conflicting range of IPs with static mappings outside of this range.

Well, in others systems the dhcpd allow do static mapping within the range.

Because this current limitation, I´m not using the DHCP Server in pfsense, I´m using in windows server. But the error is like 'cannot do revervation within the range'.

In the same page where do static mapping, if the host field is ignored, the webgui save the first mapping and when I will do the second one, the webgui display a error like: We already have a host with this name!
I think this was discussed in others posts!!

I think this is a matter of differing views of how a DHCP server should operate. I happen to think the implementation is absolutely correct and one should never put a reservation within the scope. That being said, I the current ISC DHCP server (IIRC, since v3) allows putting reservations within the scope, so if you really need this you could either write a patch or post a bounty to have someone do it. Or just run DCHP on a different box. If you have a server on the network, why run DCHP on the firewall anyway?
