How to secure my win 7 pc which is hosting pfsense via vitualbox vm?

If i install pfsense onto a virtual box vm that is hosted on win7 64 bit pc will my win 7 computer be available on the internet and if so how do i secure my win 7?

OK thanks for the heads up. What about setting it up this way is un-secure? Also I have actually setup pfsense on a flash drive qnd run it this way instead. Anything i should know about running pfsense in this manner? Thank You!
