Okay, nevermind, after debugging pfSense I learned that in fact I226-V does support ALTQ.

Turns out I just had my LAN interface accidentally set to ipv6 DHCP mode, which created a gateway for it, hence the wizard detected all my interfaces as WAN, and it requires the inputted amount to not be higher than the amount of WAN or LAN interfaces, whichever higher, so 1 was higher than 0.

The error message is a bit misleading as a result though.

Seems to be working after disabling ipv6 on LAN. I really need to understand ipv6 better before I get into that anyway.

    Hi,
Thanks for sharing that issue. I've exactly the same. Took long time to define the issue.
So, on Proxmox 8 at least, when installing pfsense in a standard way without UEFI, we are able to start the firewall and so on. issue is that when restarting on Proxmox 8, pfsense doesn't restart (note that if trying multiple time, seems some of the versions may restart. So, consider it also as a random issue).
Point of attention may be that it is working fine under Proxmox 6. Absolutely no issues with that version.

    As follow up,
the changes proposed in the topic about proxmox seems to work. The firewall has been up for 60 days without an issue.

    Tyvm!
