      Hi

On my pfSense box I have the following:

      Port 1 WAN - PPPOE
      Port 2 LAN - 192.168.1.x range
      Port 3 Wireless AP - 10.10.1.x range

The Chromecast is connecting to the Wireless AP and gets a 10.10.1.x IP Address. My tablet connects to the same AP and gets 10.10.1.x IP address.
(All wireless devices have static allocations in the DHCP Server)
The tablet can connect and work with the chromecast fine.

My PCS has a 192.168.1.x IP Address it can ping the Chromecast on it's 10.10.1.x IP Address, but I can't stream to it.

Can anyone advise how to allow the PC to send to the chromecast as well ?

      Thanks

Chromecast across subnets is a problem..  It uses multicast, you might be able to find it if you use avahi because it uses mdns.  But then you might need the multicast proxy as well igmp..

I trashed my chromecast long time ago when went with roku ;) Have to dig it up to see what is actually required to get it to work, if possible..  The best write up I have seen on details of how it works is the cisco deployment guide for chromecast
        http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/controller/technotes/7-6/chromecastDG76/ChromecastDG76.html

Thanks for the reply. I plan to look at this shortly, but I may have an issue if I use IGMP Proxy.
I'll open it as a new thread to save any confusion.

But it may have an impact on how I can use the Chromecast or AllStream to my TV (wireless) from my PC (LAN)

          Thanks
