CARP problem with OSX clients
-
Hi!
I have a somehow strange problem with some MAC computers on my LAN (other MAC and all the PC's works as they shoud).
The setup is as follows:
Two pfSense XG-2758 in a HA configuration.
ix0 = WAN
ix1 = LAN (with 6 VLAN's)
igb1 = "HA-SYNC"The WAN and LAN interfaces on each pfSense are connected to two different switches (Extreme X670-G2) as they are in two different locations. The two switches are connected in a EAPS ring.
Client switches (Extreme X440) are connected to either of the X670 switches.ix1.105 has a VIP 192.168.105.1 (pf1 = 192.168.105.2, pf2 = 192.168.105.3)
The interface has DHCP running and a captive portal.Everything works as it should, EXCEPT some Apple computers. (3-4 of about 25 MAC and 25 PCs).
These Apple computers looses connectivity after some time (varies, but about 1-2 hours)
They can still ping .2 and .3 but not the .1 VIP.
If the user disconnects the LAN cable and reconnects it again, everything works fine for another period of time.
As far as I can tell I only have this problem in this VLAN that has a CP. Other VLAN's without a CP doesn't seem to have the same problem.Has anyone got a theory of what my problem might be?
Why does some clients stop receiving or "loosees" the VIP ARP?Regards
Chris
