I've been having ongoing issues with my internet going down 1-4 times daily and I'm getting towards the end of my rope with my ISP. During these events pings from pfsense or the ISP modem to any website (or the PPPOE gateway itself) have high latency and packet loss.

At this point I'm running ISP provided hardware for PPPOE and have DMZ'd pfsense but the issues continue.
ONT and fiber cables to the side of my house have been replaced, leaving something upstread such as a fiber switch or maybe the PPPOE gateway itself?

I would like to somehow tie a script into gateway monitoring alerts which will run a tracert and ping against a handful of addresses, outputting the timestamped results to a file so that I have data to provide my ISP when I attempt to escalate this issue past T1 support.

I'm getting very frustrated as I've had non-reliable internet for nearly 2 months and am likely going back to Comcast, despite the pricing and speed differences if I cannot get this resolved by End of Month.

Well then you already have the data and timestamps to show them in the monitor graph..

That provides timestamps, but I feel that having chronological data which includes the hops and IPs enroute would be very helpful, Specifically including the PPPOE gateway ip address as one of those hops as that could help isolate a specific gateway were it that.

The logs showing that the issues begin at the gateway also would indicate the issue is upstream between my house and the gateway which greatly narrows the problem down.

Is there a way to get that info from the monitoring logs?

One of the main problems I've been having with the T1 techs is they have been unable to troubleshoot it as it's an intermittent problem and didn't know where to begin despite the verbal info I've provided them. I'm hoping the hard data helps me in escalating to a engineer. I've tried calling their support line during an outage but all they were able to discern is that the modem wasn't communicating and had me power cycle it which "fixed" the outage.

See in the top right corner - you can download the graph data as csv..

You stated the problem shows that pinging the gateway has problems... Why would you need to show anything but that..

What hops - your gateway is the first hop. If your having issues pinging the gateway, there are no hops between that would be shown..

Hmm, I currently have pfsense DMZ'd behind the ISP modem so it's detecting the ISP modem as the GW. I've begun running pingplotter on one of my VM's to hopefully get some more detailed data I can export.

so it's detecting the ISP modem as the GW.

Well if pfsense is having problems pinging your ISP device.. Then its either that device, or the connection to said device.. That would have nothing to do with the actual internet connection.
