      Hello everyone,

      I just purchased a Netgate 6100 and done just the initial startup wizard and now the device is connected to the Internet.

      After this, I noticed the dashboard has a widget for "Netgate Services and Support" where it says: "Contract type: Community Support / Community Support Only".

      I was under the impression that all Netgate products benefit from free TAC Lite support. Is there anything I'm missing? The device does have internet connection.

        If you have Netgate hardware you do have TAC Lite level support. You can open supports tickets.

        If you send me your NDI in chat I can investigate.

          @defenderllc As @stephenw10 noted Community Support == TAC Lite in Netgate hardware.

            @rcoleman-netgate

            After checking with @stephenw10 it now shows proper TAC Lite support, so I don't think that "Community Support == TAC Lite" is true.

              @ionutit For Netgate devices they are the same thing.

              We will change a device's support listing when users express concern or worry about the label displayed on their dashboard.

              In TAC we have zero difference in provided support level between Netgate devices with Community Support and Netgate devices with TAC Lite.

                  I also recently purchased a 6100 Max which I love. I also received only Community Support and said I should Tac Lite support.

                    To be clear all Netgate devices are covered by TAC Lite. It's only the additional support subscription that shows like that. The coverage is identical.

                      Which is why I won't be changing these things -- as long as it is a Netgate device it will get updates. Changes are not needed.

                        @defenderllc Because TAC Lite doesn't expire with the warranty. TAC Lite follows the lifetime of the device.

                        Expiration of TAC Lite on non-Netgate devices will keep you from accessing updates in future releases of pfSense Plus.

                          @defenderllc Nothing should happen - the update checks send the serial number as well. But if it does -- open a ticket.
