Change interface network card for the WAN
-
Greetings,
pfsense ver 2.7.2I have 3 Intel i225-LM 2.5Gb network cards integrated into my motherboard, which pfsense sees as igc0,igc1,igc2.
I also have an Intel network card with 4 outputs Ethernet model I350-T4V2 10/100/1000 Mbps 4*GLAN PCi Ex 2.0 4x which pfsense sees as igb0,igb1,igb2,igb3.Currently the WAN is on igb0 and everything is working fine.
Using WEB gui, today, I tried to move the WAN to igc0 in anticipation of upgrading my internet connection to 2.5Gb.Problem:
when I bind the WAN to igc0 and save the browser runs but continues to display igb0.
I also tried restarting pfsense but it didn't solve the problem.I also tried with igc1 and igc2 but I have the same problem
it's normal?What can I do?

@Unoptanio Easiest way is through the console.
When you log in it will list all your interfaces. COPY them.
You will need to reassign all of them so make the other interfaces the same as they are, just change the WAN.
It's option 1. -
Do you mean that the web gui doesn't work?
Is it possible that there is no other system?
Again from Web gui I tried to assign igc0 or igc1 to the "SERVIZIO interface" and save but it doesn't save the changes

You should be able to reassign WAN as igc0 if it's not assigned as anything else. If it's assigned but not enabled it won't show on the console menu there.
If you try to save the interface assignment with two interfaces using the same NIC it should throw an error.

Not saying it doesn't work, but when an interface is in use it can be difficult. That's why using the console is the easiest way.

From the WEB GUI:
I was able to move the WAN to the 2.5Gb igc0 interface.
1)First I disabled the WAN.
2)Then I reassigned the interface to igc0
3)Finally I reactivated the WAN
I also did a system reboot
