SG-5100 Power Button
-
Hi Folks,
Is the behavior of the Power Button from the SG-5100 referenced on this page detailed anywhere in the documentation?
All I can find is in the Note on that page and states:
The power button on the SG-5100 has been programmed to perform a graceful shutdown when depressed.I'm trying to understand if the duration of a press or subsequent amount of clicks has any effect.
Thanks for your input.

It's an acpi power button. It will initiate an acpi shutdown as soon as it's pressed. By default at least.
If you hold it down for ~5s it will immediately power off the box.

@stephenw10, it makes sense. I appreciate your follow-up.
Is there a way to disable it from the interface, so nothing happens if it's pressed by accident?

Yes, you can set the system tunable:
hw.acpi.power_button_state=NONE
That will disable the ACPI shutdown. It will still reset if you hold it down long enough.
