Importing config.xml from 1.2.3RC1 - is possible ?

I'm trying to test the 2.0-aplha, 8.0 based, but I'd like to assemble a different machine for that. I have an identical hardware (half ram - 128MB) and I'd like to import all configs to this box. If all is fine, I'd like to use both and make the 1.2.3RC the failover box using CARP.
is all this possible ?

Importing a Config.xml from 1.2.3 should work for the most part.

I did try, but just got a ton of php error in the beginning of the page. my main concern is the historical data, mainly RRD graphics. then dhcp server info, as will save me time to redo all config.
just save xml from one and recover from other will do ? (that was what did not work for me), I tried also installing a 2.0-alpha with a usb stick on the box where there was a fat FS and conf dir with config.xml.

No luck for me- used 2.0-ALPHA 20091024-2136, upgrade my config to 1.2.3-rc3, then uploaded the config backup to 2.0- system was not working, vlans did not work, and it began asking me for a username/password at the serial console.

The vlan upgrade code needs some more attention. It's not quite 100% but it is better than it has been.
