Is there any way to start pfSense booting directly into an 'net-enabled mode without having to configure on the serial console?  Laptops these days don't have serial ports; does anybody know of good serial adapter for USB?

I made the mistake of reflashing to RC2, it didn't fix my issue, and then I discovered the snapshot releases.  Also, it looks like the naming conventions have changed a bit – I'm running a NexCom 1041c off a CF card -- should I be using pfSense.img.gz?

    Thanks!

You can use the nexcom either with the embedded image when running from cf-card (at least 128 mb media required for the recent version) or a full install from hdd.

See http://www.mail-archive.com/support@pfsense.com/msg03811.html for an earlier ml post where I summed up some things about the nexcom 1041c.
