    So I made some changes to the firewall yesterday. We have dual internet connections and was adjusting the DSL and after all the changes (because there were many as I was trying to get a static working) I started getting this in my email and it's been spamming the crud out of me….

    | X-Cron-Env: <shell= bin="" sh="">X-Cron-Env: <path= etc:="" bin:="" sbin:="" usr="" sbin="">X-Cron-Env: <home= var="" log="">X-Cron-Env: <logname=root>X-Cron-Env: <user=root>route: writing to routing socket: No such process</user=root></logname=root></home=></path=></shell=> |

    What is it that is causing this error and causing it to email me so dang much? All my internet connections are working just fine.

      Is it possible that you have a duplicate gateway?  You can check under System -> Routing, on the Gateways tab.  Maybe you have a duplicate and have monitoring enabled on both?

        Nope, no duplicate gateways. I did at one time trying to get all this static PPPOE stuff figured out with our DSL provider but I have the appropriate gateways now and for the moment my internet connections are set to DHCP.

          Would screen shots help and which screen shots would one want to help figure out this issue?

          If it helps anyone to figure out what is going on the subject line is…..

          Cron root@firewall/etc/rc.filter_configure_sync/root@firewall

            /etc/rc.filter_configure_sync contains the following…..

            | #!/usr/local/bin/php -f
            /* $Id$ /
            /
