Is there a way to specific a configuration file and not use the UI? The UI does not allow one to route based on ACL… For instance you can match a URL prefix (http://load-balancer/app0, or a hostname (http://app0), and redirect it to a backend.

I read that if you restart HAProxy, it overwrites the config file, so it seems that changing the file on disk is a useless endeavor.

      Hi j@svg,

Haproxy_1_5 supports acl's and choosing backend by using multiple 'shared' frontends..
Haproxy-devel (pkg v0.33) might be a bit more easy to understand how the concept where acl's and actions can be configured more like they are also used in the actual haproxy configurations.

As for configuring complete 'fixed' configuration manually that is currently not possible. But also not needed imho.
If you really must you could put a lot of custom options including whole frontend/backend configurations into the settings tab advanced setting.. Maybe that fits your purpose if the gui doesnt allow to make the wanted choices?

      Regards,

Awesome. the "devel" package does exactly what we need it to do, without a whole lot of custom options. The big thing was to have multiple backends per frontend.
