    @sef1414 Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

    You will need a virtual machine with freebsd8.1 install to create packages for pfsense The best way to do this is: Download 8.1 freebsd iso Install it on a virtual machine Install ports ( portsnap fetch && portsnap extract) Compile your package from ports make && make install Build package with 'make package' Copy result compressed package file to a testing pfsense Install package with pkg_add package_file. If what you want is an antispam system, take a look on postifx_forwarder package + mailscanner  ;)

    @jimp: check the system log for errors, and also try Diagnostics > DNS and see if you get a valid response for mail.yahoo.com on that page. Thanks for your time, It started working. I had interchanged my DNS up and down and it worked. Thank u very much Regards, Prashant Chauhan

    No you can't get 802.11n speeds with that card. 802.11n rate control does not exist in FreeBSD 8.1.  FreeBSD 9 is closer, but still needs some patches, and even then that is for some ath cards, not sure if that one (mwl) is included.

    There isn't a button in the GUI for it, but you can stop squid, rm -rf /var/squid/cache, then run squid -z, and start squid again.

    With so little information nobody will be able to help. Start with detailing what version number of pfSense and what version number of Squid. What firewall rules are in place to stop people bypassing Squid? What is in the system logs? Are you also using SquidGuard? How, if at all, does this relate to your other question?

    @Cry: Memory usage should be high - if it isn't then it is being wasted. Any modern OS will maximise memory use, even if it is just for buffers and caches. ^ This. Free RAM is wasted RAM. If it isn't in active use it can be used for caching and such. As the system is up it will tune the requirements in a bit. You can see more detail about the breakdown by watching the 'top' output or viewing Diagnostics > System Activity.

    WE have it figured out very well on the IPv4 lists. These are updated successfully each day. The full IPv6 bogons list is a little more troublesome, but it should be complete, dynamic and stable soon.

    So basically you're wanting remote VPN clients to go back out of WAN to the Internet? Yeah that's possible, and widely done. Something like running the server-side of a VPN provider, a number of such providers use pfSense.

    Lol, is just a home router, plus is such an insignificant thing that I see no harm on doing it. Plus I did this on the secondary router that I am fixing as a spare router, just in case. So for now, this is a toy for me to mess with!  ;D
