@microserfs and what IP was that - clearly your current IPv6 address is not block that I show you connected with.. And the only other IPv4 I see you using is not blocked.. You would have to let me know what IP you were coming from that was blocked.. Send it to me via PM if you don't want to make it public.

@sef1414 Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

@jahonix said in Time to modernize core?: To everyone not in the development loop of pfSense (aka a newbie) this reads as: “Look in the repository, idiot, we’re working on it.” Not blaming, only trying to translate perspectives. That wasn't exactly my intention. I was drawing attention to the fact that development of the project was being criticized by someone who did not take any time to look at the development of the project. Everyone is free to rant about whatever they like or dislike, but you can't expect to phrase a post in a critical way with zero supporting evidence and not receive a defensive response when the major point(s) are easily refuted with even basic research.

You probably want to look at the pfBlockerNG package and its GeoIP lists.

We had some network maintenance happening on Saturday around the time this was originally posted, odds are it was a temporary glitch.

Huawei GPON MA5608T with compact design, there’s no uplink board for it. The main control board MCUD/MCUD1 provides uplink ports.

@_toxic_ said in Going from VM back to appliance: gotcha.. sorry for all the questions.. its because i have a friend using an old pc for his FW and he's a security guy so he prioritizes that over bandwidth and it cuts his DL speed in half because of his hardware running the IPS How old is the PC? I have a very old core 2 duo machine, it easily passes 300 Mbit when it had Pfsense installed on it. My old Pfsense installation ( pre Qotom ), was a Dell OptiPlex 790 with a i5 CPU. It was a waste of resources, so I installed Windows and gave it to my parents. It flies with a SSD.

Hi, You can find the steps to regain access to your appliance here: https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Locked_out_of_the_WebGUI Once you've regained access, you should be able to get on latest stable from System > Update in the GUI or option 13 on the console. No, the appliance does not update on it's own. Thank you, -James

I see, then I understand why you'd need that button. As said, I just hop through the forums, new or not and make a quick read over the topics listed. I didn't meant emails/notifications. You can disable that (I did). Just wanted the alert bell or unread message counter for those topics I subscribe to But thanks for your reply, always interesting how some do the same but different :)

@jimp said in How to disable non-english categories?: @jdeloach said in How to disable non-english categories?: Do you have to do this each time you log in or is it set permanently? Seems to me there should be someway for us, USA users, to block the International users posts like the old system did. If you set the international category to ignore, it is permanent. Thanks jimp.

@ivor said in It's good to be back.: Click on unread icon (second icon top left) and from there, click on “Mark as Read” > “all”. Previously there was a button that cleared a forum. Now, I have to click twice, to reach a list where I now have to choose which forum I want to mark as read. What's wrong with having a button in each forum again?
