    There is a DNS server package available that will automatically switch to a failover IP when the primary IP is unavailable. Check out the DNS Server testing area of the forum.

    I finally got the Tyan S3095 with two Intel PCIe nics onboard and the following things happened:

    I also had to restart pfsense after aktivating vlans. After assigning a new vlan pfsense needs 2-3 minutes to transmit the request and it happened once that pfsense suddenly restarts after clicking the save button for a new vlan.

    But the most important thing is that after assigning all vlans pfsense seems to work great :)

    @dotdash:

    Nice way to insult someone trying to give you some free advice. Perhaps you could have offered some clarification on your first only-semi-comprehensible post instead.

    I also agree that it was quite rude considering that "GruensFroeschli" is one of the folks that help people out the most here.  See http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,5842.0/topicseen.html for proof.

    So please answer my question since your problem report is USELESS!

    Is this environment vmware?

    You would need to setup VLANs assuming that your router supports them.

    ok i think i get the picture.
    then my previous post kind of applies to your needs.

    but i see one problem. one of your 10.0.0.0/24 customer's could just change his IP into an IP of the e.f.g.0/24 subnet and thus gain full access.

    only if you use some kind of filemanager that handles multiple connections at once.

    This is working already.  I'm paying for a VPN service because my ISP is blocking services.  The internet works fine with the VPN service, but once I'm connected to the VPN, do the routes not need to be changed, so that pfsense does not try to still route internet over the wan interface?  How can I tell PFSense to now route over the tun adapter instead of the opt nic..

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the reply and thank you Scott also.

    I don't blame you at all for putting this off to 1.3.  I'm sure you are anxious to get 1.2 to production version.  I'll be looking forward to 1.3 beta(fully realizing you said future, not 1.3   ;) ) since my application depends on the state reset to be able to use it.  I'm excited about your product!, and I like the way you handled this.

    Thanks again!

    Thanks for this post and the reply!! I have been meaning to tackle this for a long time but never got around to doing it until today. I was following the above guide and had everything set up identical to the steps listed, but I was unable to access the Internet from a DMZ machine. I triple checked my rules but everything looked fine and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. I was about to post for some help, but after one last check of my settings, I noticed the NAT Outbound tab. I remember back when I had first setup my pfSense (two years ago) that in order to get Hamachi and the KAD Network to connect properly, I had to manually specify outbound NAT rules in doing this, a NOTE under the tab states:

    If advanced outbound NAT is enabled, no outbound NAT rules will be automatically generated any longer

    In checking these rules, I saw that there was a rule which was allowing my LAN connection to access the Internet and thus manually created one for my DMZ based off the same rule. This fixed my problem!! So for anyone else out there that is using the Advanced Outbound NAT Rules and trying to setup a DMZ, remember to manually create an OUTBOUND rule for your DMZ to access the Internet in ADDITION to the steps outlined in the Monowall guide.

    Thanks again

    @GruensFroeschli:

    you add VPN capability not on the interface.
    there is a seperate section just for VPN.

    Hmm… I can have only one WAN PPTP or PPPoE not both?
