Hello, Then you might want to look at Untangle if you seriously doing contents filtering by URL/URI. I don't know Squid does help you alot. The last resort I can think of now is that, assuming the users are using Windows, then install some sort of personal firewall thingy on it and configure go/no go locally. Hello, I've put my first Untangle just behind my pfSense, and guess what! It's way easy and kinda no brainer!!! Read Wiki and just follow the wizard then it's going to take you all thru. It was only 10 minutes. I like Untangle much ;D ;D

I guess that pfSense's WebGUI is quite simple ;) For complex tasks (like alert) you may have some hooks inside pfSense shell ;) I almost gave up when I did't know how to do regulary remote-backup for pfsense . Finally i wrote some scripts, some daemons and everything is ok now ;) Let's hack pfSense :) NB: pfSense doesn't have anti-virus support.

Here's how I did it: ########################################################################################## follow the guide on how to set up a build environment for pfsense (on the wiki) but before you do a ./cvsup_current, you need to modify the pfsense.6 kernel config file to enable linux compatability in the kernel. pfSense.6 is in tools/builder_scripts/conf. add an options line for COMPAT_LINUX and while you are at it, add any other stuff you want like NETSMB, SMBFS etc go ahead with the cvsup_current step now and the freesbie scripts will build you your pfSense kernel with compat support. You still need to add the linux libraries to pfsense. For this, you have to go to /usr/ports/emulators/linux_base-fc4 and do a make install, then move the /compat folder that is created into your pfSense file system for inclusion on the CD Hope that helps, Craig ##########################################################################################
