    @shakeel

    If this, what you are reporting here, was pointed to a power
    outage, you might be perhaps als looking for a qualified
    UPS unit (Uninterruptible power supply) also. It should
    then be able to hold both pfSense firewalls if you run a
    active/passive setup. Try tog et the same box again
    might be also nice for narrow down troubleshooting.

    Ah, if some of the VMs don't have private IPs that pfSense can reach already then that might be all you can do.
    Otherwise it's really only the bridge option and that would definitely be a last resort solution for me.

    Were you still able to connect to the LAN side of pfSense? Open the webgui?

    Were you able to connect to the console? What did/does that show for the interfaces?

    Is it even booted correctly?

    If you have pfSense configured with a PPPoE WAN then it won't connect to another router without switching that to DHCP.

    @mdhurrtn said in Plex server running, but cannot find on windows 10 pro internal network:

    Just no IP addresses.

    If they had no ip address they wouldn't work, by default pfsense defaults to 192.168.1.1 and hands out IPs via dhcp on the 192.168.1 network.

    Look in the status dhcp leases for what your devices IPs are, or look on the devices themselves for what their IPs are.

    Then try to pin down exactly what is failing when it happens.

    Is it a DNS probem?

    Is it a routing problem?

    Is traffic being blocked?

    Ah, yes the Squid package has probably not yet been adapted to php 8.1. I would expect it to throw errors like that until it's updated.

    @hansve That error is because something was run on Diagnostics > Command prompt that exceeded the memory allocated to render a page in php.

    Without knowing what was run it's pretty much impossible to diagnose further.

    @stephenw10 Yeah, I never saw an ARP query initiated by the ISP over several hours of capturing all ARP traffic on the WAN port.

    @mrjoli021 are these IPv6 addresses?

    Maybe you just need a bigger screen? ;)

    I have 4 columns of widgets, the firewall widget is in the far right column, and not seeing this, even with 5 digit ports.

    Some of the older 'easy smart' switches failed to handle VLANs correctly. You could not remove ports from VLAN1 meaning broadcasts leaked between VLANs. I have one of those.

    I also have a newer, much more expensive, TP-Link switch and it works great, no complaints.

    I'm not aware of any particular issues with their current low end switches either.

    Set the LAN interface to use a different subnet. 192.168.100.1/24 would work fine.

    @onepiece said in Creating VLANs and subnets (and SSIDs) using pfSense:

    Do most modern APs allow multiple SSID transmissions using separate subnets simultaneously?

    Proper APs usually do, but using a router as an AP won't. Just read the specs to see what an AP can do.

    I have a Unifi AC-Lite AP, which supports multiple SSIDs and VLANs, as did a TP-Link AP I used before.

    BTW, some people here like the Unifi APs.

    @Gertjan @stephenw10 Thanks for the pointer. Filer does seem to at least backup the file. It's Base64 encoded but it is in the backup file. I will try it and see what happens.
