I have multiple sites running pfsense 2.0RC1/2 authenticating against external (public) RADIUS box(es) using the built in portal. Remote users have the ability to log in, and create users and groups for their site.

As far as daloRADIUS:
Tested daloRADIUS in a Xen VE today with success locally. I plan to migrate this Xen VM to a public farm as well as test the accounting attributes along with AD integration when I get time. I don't see why this would not work, dalo is nothing more than a great front end for freeRADIUS.

I have a Mesh build on the table integrating C15C0 Wireless Controllers, and I plan to use pfsense as a gateway, daloRADIUS & paypal for payments. This build could pan out, or become a tangent… either way, I may be interested in assisting with paypal integration, it looks like you're going to be deploying a large scale system  ;D

I can try to do this.. Will hack the captive portal gui + some other file. Which means it's will only works for that's certains version.. When you upgrade it's will be gone. I can give you diff file but can't confirm it's will works when upgrading.

Vaguely, it mentions 2.0 in various places and what things were known to be different at the time. We will be writing another book based on 2.0 in the near future.

Xen is not dead. Without going too much off-topic, very few companies use KVM in production. There are literally thousands that use Xen though. While I agree that the distant future for KVM looks good (as there are a lot of companies backing it), Xen is by far the most mature virtualisation technology out there (Even more mature than VMWare).

As to the poster who mentioned that I should forget PV and use full virtualisation, yes, I've tried that and pfsense works well in Xen under full virtualisation (HVM mode). However, Xen works better with PV VMs, hence this bounty :)

Unfortunately I found it rather difficult to get Xen working in my environment and ended up having to deploy KVM.  I have an opportunity to try it again in a few days.  If I succeed, I may be willing to pursue this bounty if it's still open.

If you can hold off for 2.0 to be released, I sure would.  Also, I would estimate 3 to 4 hours to do a first class job.  That's a really a fair price for 5 hours of this type of support/knowledge.  And no, I don't get any of it.   :)
