    a lan is always a /64.

    If you don't see any addresses you need to check if radvd is still running.

    @Cino:

    I agree with that the web GUI interface should be consistent. I was simply explaining why the brackets work.

    Ah, OK. Sure, same as entering an ipv6 URL in the browser…

    @jimp:

    Ah, then it could be that. Last time I tried, I just got the SSL error.

    i still get that error, where you can't add the exception.. happen earlier today as this post got me playing with my dyndns account.

    Have you tried to manually update your account with an IPv6 address? Make sure your Ipv6WAN has what ever port your using open or you get blocked

    @Alan87i:

    Just a reboot causes the same problem Not authorized connected pc's have full access until I save the main CP page .

    Ok, then you should probably open a new thread containing a well chosen headline like "CaptivePortal does not authenticate users after reboot against RADIUS".

    Or you can open a ticket on redmine.pfsense.org

    appears to be fixed here too :) - curious how a VLAN patch could cause this though when my PPPoE isn't on a VLAN… I just ask because it worked for a few hours after the upgrade the first time THEN died with the symptoms the OP reported... want to make sure it doesn't go down again in a few more hours :)

    In that case, "killall -9 rate"  from a shell would have recovered it, or:

    killall -9 php; killall -9 lighttpd; /etc/rc.restart_webgui

    get_menu_messages is the first proper function in functions.inc - so if functions.inc is getting require'd twice somehow, then that would be the first hit on a double declaration.
    I just fired up a fresh 2G CF card on an Alix 2D3:
    2.1-BETA0 (i386)
    built on Mon Jun 25 16:02:04 EDT 2012
    The wizard ran fine.
    zcache had a 4G CF, jharr has a 1G CF, I have a 2G.
    Surely it can't be an issue with the 1G and 4G images but not with the 2G!
    I have an Alix 2D3 (3 ethernet ports - LAN, WAN, OPT1), the others have Alix systems with 2 or 1 ethernet port - how can the way the wizard selects the default hardware for LAN and WAN be much different so it does some weird sequence that induces this on on 1 or 2 ethernet nanobsd systems?
    Has anyone else seen this, and if so, on what hardware and software combination?
    Does it happen every time you start the wizard on a fresh install on your hardware? (reproducible or hit and miss?)
    Does it happen right at the start of the wizard, just after login? (From the posts I think yes)

    Second thought - the private network was the clue - I had forgotten to force mac address of test machine to be the same as live machine - now works OK

    What an idiot.

    Running through the appropriate traffic shaping wizard will set up a prioritized ACK queue for the WAN interface (qACK).  I think you'll need to select some type of traffic to utilize the ACK queue otherwise it'll just fill up the default queue.  All this can be done very easily within the wizard.  Are you worried about a small subset of camp customers uploading large YouTube videos and ruining it for everyone else?  Why not just prioritize HTTP & HTTPS traffic?  I find that when people complain about "the Internet" not working it's usually due to some slow loading webpage.

    @rcfa:

    @mrzaz:

    I don't know if it is possible to run darkstat on multiple interfaces at the same time in one darkstat instance !?

    I doubt it. But one might be able to launch several instances, each running on one interface.

    However, then it will start separate WEB-instances as well. You could not have it combined.
    (eg. <ip>:666, <ip>:667 and so on.)  And this is not prepared today in the current package.

    If you can - the best way would be to do accounting on a sql database. then just do a query on a user for his amount of traffic. this query will be secured by the user's username/password.
    Or you copy the accounting logiles to another server every hour and then you read thios from the files. the number in the files is "Bytes" - if you divide it two times with 1024 you will get the MB.

    This would avoid that you need to give someone access to your pfsense in any way.

    As far as I know it's only available on 9.0. It may be backported to 8.x in the future but I'm not sure about that.

    Looks like there's a deffinite answer now :)

    @jimp:

    What does:

    ps uxawww | grep widentd

    Show?

    Nothing but grep running…

    However syslog has this after saving the settings again:

    Jun 26 09:58:31 check_reload_status: Syncing firewall
    Jun 26 09:58:28 php: /pkg_edit.php: The command '/usr/local/etc/rc.d/widentd.sh stop' returned exit code '1', the output was 'No matching processes were found'
