Well, about an hour after posting this, and after I'd already gone to sleep, it finished and sent me an email. Not sure why that update status page never progressed further (its gone now, back to the login screen after the auto-reboot). But the Status page does report its on "2.3.2-RELEASE-p1 " Cheers.

Yep, it turns out the problem was caused by all the DNS server entries config going away for some reason.  It's odd, because some resolution was still working…some IPs on the states table were converted to host names. All other connectivity seemed to be working fine.  Along with at least some host names in the state table (not everything will reverse), I didn't suspect DNS until I tried a few manual "curl" and "fetch" commands.

Yes, the "ADI" install files are the correct ones. The other installation media would not present a usable console so it's fairly obvious it's the wrong one. If it boots/installs/runs it's OK.

I am having the same issue today, trying to restore the factory CentOS to a RCC-DFF 2220.  Tried multiple times using both USB from here as well as iPXE from http://install.netgate.com/rescue/CentOS7/centos7-rescue.ipxe Anyone have any ideas??  edit: here's a screenshot of the console output [image: 0tjDZZN.png] edit2: I tried another method that I had notes on from somewhere… this resulted in a slightly different but equally catastrophic failure (screenshot below) # initrd http://firmware.netgate.com/netinst/CentOS7/images/pxeboot/initrd.img # chain http://firmware.netgate.com/netinst/CentOS7/images/pxeboot/vmlinuz console=ttyS1,115200n8 ip=eth0:dhcp ks=http://firmware.netgate.com/netinst/ks.cfg inst.cmdline inst.text inst.headless net.ifnames=0 [image: CXSlUDO.png] I have that "/run/initramfs/rdsosreport.txt" file attached here as well. rdsosreport.txt

@KOM: Usual steps to make a generic wifi router an AP: 1.  Unplug/disable WAN 2.  Disable DHCP server 3.  Set LAN Static IP outside DHCP range 4.  Plug wifi LAN port into LAN switch Now it's acting as a wifi bridge to LAN. Added one step. Makes it easier to get back in if you need to.

No, you cannot have the same port for HTTP and HTTPS.

Did you get this working?  I have something similar, but with mine I have Internet over Ethernet, but not with WiFi. You might need to change that Firewall setting to the 200.x subnet.

Hello Jdetmold, I am encountering the same issue as you. May I ask, were you able to get this to work? If so, how? Thanks in advance!

The Azure marketplace instance doesn't use the default login as it would be potentially exposed to everywhere. You set the login when you create it. See: http://www.netgate.com/docs/azure-appliance/quick-start-guide.html Steve

Well, I was pretty much sure I wouldn't be able to do that, but I was searching a confirmation. Sorry for the silly question and thanks @doktornotor for the answer!

I found this obscure IDE2SATA adapter i bought years ago in Japan, in my "other computer stuff" bin gave it a shot, cuz hey, why not. and it's working flawlessly off a 1 TB SATA Hard Drive now. its the same as this in case anyone has the same issue. https://www.amazon.ca/HDE-SATA-Drive-Interface-Adapter/dp/B0096BEJDI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481831549&sr=8-1&keywords=ide+to+sata

I looks like you have some aliases contained in other aliases, which is legal. Or at least the code that parses the alias section sees it that way. I am not aware of any bugs in parsing aliases and setting them up in pf. I would guess that the XML you pasted in is missing some tag/closing tag or some other expected syntax.

  • SG-2440 factory firmware not available without Gold subscription?

Hi Jim, thanks for replying. After the year anniversary of my SG-2440 purchase, I lost access to the memstick factory images in the pfSense portal. I opened a ticked and received this response from support: "We restrict the factory image downloads to match the active support time of the device. An active gold subscription doesn't allow access to the factory images. Purchasing an SG series device will give you 2 software support incidents (after registering the serial #) and will grant access to the factory images for as long as that subscription is active. Our current policy, unfortunately, doesn't allow for inactive support members to have access to the factory images." I would expect that I would have access to the same level of firmware, even without a support agreement for the supported life of the device.  For this particular unit, I use for my home network and don't require a support contract.  It doesn't seem right to have to go down to CE on an SG-2440 if I choose to do a clean install in the future. I appreciate your assistance, Marco
