    There's also the RCC-VE-4860. That's the route I went and just installed pfSense myself.

    Turns out I had traffic shaping on and it was limiting the interface.  As I now have 1GB I really don't need to shape. ;)

    @Dave:

    Is the SG-23X0 CPU really nearly 4 years old?

    The SG-2340 uses the Intel Atom E3845 and the SG-2320 uses the Intel Atom E3826 (according to the spec sheets).  So not quite 4 years old…  release date was 4th quarter 2013 on both.

    Ok, that's good to know that there is some additional protection. I'll probably hold off further updates until the 2.4 final release though, since it's a right pain to restore it when you are 1000 km from the box :)

    Yes, XG-1541 will handle 1Gb/s or more without any issues!

    @mhab12:

    I would pick something up from the pfSense store or Netgate.  Rumor is the project gets a bit more money if you use https://store.pfsense.org/systems/

    I just picked up a 4860 after my old Netgate APU couldn't keep up with my new Cox Gigablast.  I'm able to get about 700mbps via iperf.he.net and I'm thinking the bottleneck is not my hardware.  Most of my stuff is wireless so I haven't been able to do much more testing than what the iperf package in pfsense can provide, though I'm sure I would see nearly wire speed throughput.

    Not a rumor :) the pfSense project is funded with appliance sales, support subscriptions and Gold subscriptions. Netgate is the company behind the pfSense project. All pfSense developers work at Netgate.

    Your right he did mention a XS728T..  But sounded like he was doing his 2GBps before he setup pfsense? ;)

    What is the new config/drawing?

    @gcu_greyarea:

    Hi bimmerdriver,

    The SG-2440 at my work shows the same symptoms (Red Led, no boot, no console).
    Were you able to fix your 2440?

    Please contact our support as well. support@netgate.com

    @Sn3ak:

    I installed Netgate Coreboot Upgrade, it shows an upgrade from 01.00.00.09 to 01.00.00.14. Is this the correct firmware for this model and is it safe to apply? or is it only aware of the SG models?

    Works for XG-2758 too!

    Supply and demand. We sold significantly more SG-8860-1U's, so we decided to sell only the 1U version.

    In light of recent notifications by Netgate on future releases of pfSense, the (current) SG-4860 and its Intel Atom C2558 are already poised to take advantage of the AES-NI requirements that are coming.  Many of the other fanless solutions will be lacking based on CPU.

    @@lex99:

    After changing some settings on the ISP modem, it finally delivers full throughput when a PPPoE session is established by another device.

    So far, I am happy with the SG-1000.  I get 46 Mbps DL and 9 Mbps UL, which is the maximum of my DSL line.  I have installed a couple of packages as well and everything is running fine in the test environment.

    To be continued…

    Good news! Thank you for the update.

    Is there a tool to monitor the cpsw ports (other that ifconfig)?
    I suspect that something in my config is not being supported by the nics.

    I will be restoring configs to two new 4860s this week.  Can you advise if the loader.conf settings will be carried forward from the old device during the restore?  Also, what is the best way to to properly confirm/change these settings in loader.conf if needed?
