@stephenw10 Steve, any idea when this patch will be available? We operate in 184 refugee camps in Germany and refugees are coming from Ukraine. It would be more than a pity if they can't use WhatsApp and such to call their families.

We are testing what we think will be a final patch now.
When we are confident it works for more complex setups it will be made available as one of the recommended patches in the system patches package.

@stephenw10 patiently waiting for the patch.. it is always good to test before upgrading....tested in my lab environment immediately after the release, and experienced this problem.

@colleytech Yep, we did also test 2.6.0 before we started the roll-out. However, we did not detect the problem that ICMP/UDP is blocked when using the captive portal. Bad luck. Next time we will wait longer before we upgrade ...

Yup, should be a system patches package update available that contains this as a recommended patch.

Please test it if you're able and let us know if anything is still not working as expected.

@luisenrique Install the current System Patches package (2.0_4)

Then open Sys > Patches and apply the captive portal patch:

                            Then reboot.

With these networks white listed, the captive portal clients do not need to login to the portal before they use app like Whatsapp-"phone".
Is that what you want ?

If the provided patch is applied to 2.6.0., WhatsApp is working also without adding those networks in the section "Allowed IP addresses". For example, if you want to use the Captive Portal function.

@refugeesonline said in WhatsApp calls do not connect after upgrade 2.5.2 -> 2.6.0:

If the provided patch is applied to 2.6.0.,

Exact. without the patch, UDP and ICMP traffic was 'stuck'.

Adding networks to Services > Captive Portal > ZONE > Allowed IP Addresses wouldn't help you to solve that issue.

So, applying the patch is needed to give the captive portal network access to the Internet.

Adding networks to Services > Captive Portal > ZONE > Allowed IP Addresses will bypass the captive portal authentication for these networks/IPs.

Again : is this what you want ?
And, for my own curiosity : why ?
