    Hi,
I installed the OpenNTPD package so I can have a reliable time source for my network, which is 90% Windows machines. It seems the package is not right one for my purpose? I tried using http://www.keir.net/neutron.html to test if I can get the time from the FW. The OpenNTPD package should listen on the LAN, right?

So I did a search on why it's not working and it seems there are two ways to sync your time. NTP, which is very reliable (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Time_Protocol) and DAYTIME (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DAYTIME) which is basically what Windows is using and also Neutron - basically all the simple time sync packages for Windows.

Is my assumption correct - the package does not support DAYTIME?

No. Please follow my links. NTP has a different RFC than DAYTIME. Some NTP severs seem to offer DAYTIME but not this package. These services even run on different ports!
