@firefox you could always turn off save settings on squid and squid guard and delete the package and reinstall. You could also manually remove the config from the xml file. Those are also options but I think the fresh firmware is the best approach. It does work on that version I got it going.

Hi, I had a problem with my home network today, so I checked pfsense and discovered that suricata had blocked the wan ip. After some tests and triggering some suricata alerts, the wan ip was blocked. I restarted pfsense and ran some more tests, but the problem no longer occurred. I then checked the wan interface settings and indeed the ip list does not include the wan ip, both now that it's working and before, when it was blocked. I'm using pfsense 2.8.0 and suricata 7.0.8_2. I use PPPoE to access the Internet.

@Leon-Straathof Data retention settings are handled inside of ntopng. Documentation here. Pay attention to the RRD note. Also, if you've turned on some of the slice and dice time series information (is off by default), I'd suggest turning them back off. These balloon the storage requirements and are of little actual use.

@jrey said in pfBlockerNG syslog logentries to remote SIEM: @keyser I so want to answer this, but then at the same time (no I don't) ... pfblocker using syslog messaging in real time. no tailing of files, no other packages, just code. Huuuh? That seems very very interesting I noticed your name in other posts around the forum where you seemed to be QUITE proficient at coding/developing. Are you by any chance considering involvement in developing and refining the pfBlockerNG package? It would be SO great if you are looking into adding native syslog to the pfBlockerNG package - or an easy workaround that does not require additional packages and “temporary” edits in files that does not survive service restarts or pfSense updates. Here’s that you will fill me/us in on the solution you are using to your Greylog - please, pretty please with sugar on top

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

@provels said in updating to acme 1.0 breaks system beyond repair: need to restore from backup: This same mess happened to me, even w/o Acme, going from 25.07 to *.1. Blew, reinstalled w/ Crowdsec, blew again, reinstalled, clipped all the Crowdsec info from config.xml, restored config, back to normal. Crowdsec is a great concept, but I think I'm out. I never had this issue with Crowdec before the ACME update, even with updating from 2.7 to 2.8 there was no issues. In fact after restoring from a backup after the ACME update, Crowdsec reinstalled just fine, and this was before the recent release a couple days ago that contained a fix.

@yobyot I've SSHed into pfsense and for the sake of testing I've simply run the command: tailscale up --auth-key=tskey-client-kQ_THE_REST_IS_A_SECRET\?preauthorized=true\&ephemeral=false --accept-dns=false --accept-routes --advertise-exit-node --advertise-routes=X.X.X.X/24 --advertise-tags=tag:pfsense Note the preauthorized=true and ephemeral=false I gave this key all permissions (temporarly as I just wanted to verify it's working) of course I had to register the tag used also in the ACL tags pane: https://login.tailscale.com/admin/acls/visual/tags so far so good

I figured out the issue. I missed adding the 3rd locations Lan to the static routing. Now all is working perfect.

I'm pretty sure these services are installed with the Squid package, and are only active when the respective functions have been enabled.

Hi, the source for the bind package comes from the freeBSD port git repository. You would have to ask in the freeBSD mailing list when this is going to be updated there. Best Sven Voleatech pfSense Select Partner www.voleatech.de

Hi, In softflowd config page you have to define settings : Interface Host Port Max Flows If you do not set one of these the service won't start.

^ this is spot on advice..  I really can not stress it enough, unless your very familiar with bind and keep it updated.  And even then its going to be very rare that its just not better to host dns elsewhere.  There are plenty of places you can get FREE service if your registrars dns is lacking features.  HE comes to mind for sure, and for low cost $29 a year sort of price dnsmadeeasy is just top notch choice. For starters hosting off your own connection, do you have another connection/location to provide your 2nd ns?  this really should be on completely different netblock and isp and completely different geographic location, etc. I have been in this field for many years, and dns is a passion/hobby/work for me and I just really can not think of when you would want to do this on your own connection/gear.. Its just not cost/effort effective to provide your public dns off your own stuff when there are companies that all they do is dns and they do it very very well!!!  Anycast, ddos protection, instant updates, great reporting on queries, etc. etc. If your just needing to test something, ok - why can you not just do that in house and not available to internet?  If your wanting to use pfsense downstream and need a downstream ns in your network ok pfsense can do that off its wan, etc.  But when it comes to production public dns I don't hosting that yourself as a good idea.

curl is in the base system, so is fetch. For most thing you'd need or want wget for on a firewall, fetch is fine, and curl will work if fetch will not. There's really no need for wget.

@marcelloc: It needs a fix to update code from sqlite 2 to sqlite 3. And may not be related only to widget, but all package logging to database. I'll try to fix it ASAP. Hi - any news on this topic ?  ;) - I have the same issue. (dashboard blank, no sqllite db to select -  in search mail) I have tried the two fetch -o /usr/local/www/widgets/widgets/postfix.widget.php http://e-sac.siteseguro.ws/px22/postfix.widget.txt fetch -o /usr/local/www/postfix.php http://e-sac.siteseguro.ws/px22/postfix.txt it did not fix anything - but gave me this FATAL error instead (1 per minute) Crash report begins.  Anonymous machine information: amd64 10.1-RELEASE-p25 FreeBSD 10.1-RELEASE-p25 #0 c39b63e(releng/10.1)-dirty: Mon Dec 21 15:20:13 CST 2015    root@pfs22-amd64-builder:/usr/obj.RELENG_2_2.amd64/usr/pfSensesrc/src.RELENG_2_2/sys/pfSense_SMP.10 Crash report details: PHP Errors: [13-Sep-2016 15:40:00 Europe/Stockholm] PHP Fatal error:  require_once(): Failed opening required 'postfix_dkim.inc' (include_path='.:/etc/inc:/usr/local/www:/usr/local/captiveportal:/usr/local/pkg') in /usr/local/www/postfix.php on line 4

  • Postfix forwarder - undeliverable to internal mail server?

SOLVED - listen to single LAN ip was the key. @planetinse: @dreadnought: On my LAN, 10.0.1.201 is accessible and port 25 answers… the problem is that for some reason postfix forwarder (on my firewall running pfsense) cannot forward mail to it.  If I leave my original NAT rule on for port 25 (any on port 25 to 10.0.1.201) then mail servers are able to hit my internal mail server fine through the firewall... but postfix forwarder is not in the mix in this scenario. When I disable that NAT rule (as the postfix forwarder instructions say to do) and add the rule I mentioned above, postfix forwarder answers on port 25, which is great... but mail never gets from postfix forwarder to 10.0.1.201.  I get the error mentioned above, which to me looks like for some reason postfix forwarder cannot "see" or connect to 10.0.1.201.  I'm not sure how else to explain.  Maybe a screenshot of my rules? Waking up an old topic since I got the exact same problem - I dont seem to find any solution on this in the thread…. so dreadnought did you ever found a solution to this?

ok issue #2 workaround (not fix in IMO) 1. was to set postfix to listen on LAN address only (192.168.1.5) a CARP address 2. NAT the external IP port 25 to the LAN IP tried to set postfix to listen on 127.0.0.1 only and NAT both the LAN and WAN ip's to it - but then i still could not route the mails to LAN.
