    No lie! Like I said.

I just flagged it for spam. But would you edit your last post and remove the link please.

Yeah, remove the cable from the modem and you will see that you are not receiving any spam 😂

@akuma1x Yeah I saw that, hence my question. Very slow process. PITA. Good place for a "Select All" checkbox, I'd think.

Guys, thanks for helping me prove I'm not a Russian chat bot.

I did get this to work by adding that usbconfig command as an early command. in the XML file. I'd like to understand why my usbquirk didn't work, but I'll save that for later.

Now I have it working, I have an issue getting openvpn to start. I suspect it really does not like USB ethernet.

Instead of continuing this thread in the wrong place, I'm going to start a new one, a thread about being flagged as spam is no place for openvpn support.

Thanks again everyone for the upvotes and help.

Wouldn't give him any rep, just add a signature if not spam!

@NollipfSense said in Flagged for Spam:

I have never seen the back office of forums to see all the spam issues.

You don't want to. It's a f**king mess. And without anti-spam measures you'd simply drown in the flood of bullshit-crossposting-bots that only want to advertise some BS links in their texts or signature. That's why all posts below a certain rep-rating are now looked at very closely (esp. below 5-10) as those bots simply come, post their BS and leave (mostly with less than 5 posts).

Also logging in from addresses that were reported from spam or are VPN links (and shared with many users) can trigger anti-spam. Or posting (many) links in a post - even accidental. So nothing evil with Netgate running (they ran pfsense.org long enough beforehand) but simple the internet being ... the internet.

This forum is specifically for asking questions related to the forum software itself. That's why it's called Forum Feedback. If you have a general question about pfSense, the best place to ask those would be the General pfSense Questions forum.

Firewall rules allow or deny access. They don't introduce packet loss.

Your problem seems to be several hops upstream so I'm not sure what you think pfSense can do about that.

There may be a GUI option available but using PPPoE with CARP is not something we want to encourage or endorse. If someone really wants to know how to do it, they can find the info.

Your not going to be able to run pfsense on some soho wifi router.

But you can run it on pretty much any sort of OLD pc, or you could run it as a VM using pretty much any virtualization software. You for sure could run it on some say old enterprise firewall hardware you got of ebay or something.

But no your typical off the shelf wifi router is not going to be able to run it.

There used to be some FF addons that let you set that on a per-site or global basis. Not sure if any are still around. I used to always run with that set to send the page being loaded as the referring URL, but there were always some sites that ran better one way or another.

I too would see the "Looks like your connection to Netgate Forum was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect." message, but only if I let the browser window fall to the background (while doing something else). As soon as I came back to the forum, the message would stay briefly, and then disappear! (I would never have to log in again though) Was using Firefox/Windows 7, but since switching to Linux Mint 19.1/Firefox, have not seen the message.
