    OpenBGPD and Tiny-DNS

    nothing in any of the logs. Will try and force a reinstall from the console then if it should be fine. I was just going to leave it until tomorrow and then install tonight's update.

    Why would you want to run that on your router?

    Just backup your config.xml file periodically and the rest of the system can be reinstalled from cd/usb/etc.

    with only port 21 open and today's build - Jan 20 06:00:12 - and "debug.pfftpproxy" set to 0 (I assume that re-enables it), filezilla client returns:

    Error: Connection timed out
    Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

    Roy…

    Rules on the OpenVPN tab should do it… Or you could also assign the OpenVPN interface as an OPT interface and put rules on each one individually, but that shouldn't really be needed just for this.

    You could try enabling MSS clamping on the VPN. System > Advanced, Misc tab, adjust it down a bit more, maybe 1400. You could also try checking the box to clear invalid DF bits on the Firewall/NAT tab under the Advanced options as well.

    Glad it was an easy fix…

    FYI, if you want to allow the duplicate connections, you can add in the custom options box "duplicate-cn;" and it should let both on.

    EDIT: I just added a checkbox to the openvpn server page to set duplicate-cn, should be in the next new snapshot.

    @LostInIgnorance:

    Try here: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=31058.0.  You have to install mysql-client manually using a shell to get snort to run.

    from the console run pkg_add -r http://files.pfsense.org/packages/8/All/mysql-client-5.1.53.tbz

    thank u , all went smooth after that..

    awesome stuff

    @sullrich:

    Why not use the console menu to make these types of changes?   You can modify any interfaces IP address, DHCP Server settings, etc in one pass.

    Can you set a gateway using the console menu?  I don't remember getting asked for one.  Just IP/Subnet IIRC.

    Please show me your config.
    /tmp/rules.debug before and after the failover and also your system log.

    Also describe the test you do when you have problems.

    You could try adding a line to /etc/rc.php_ini_setup that sets memory_limit to the same about as the suhosin limit, see if that has any effect.

    I'm not sure that ifconfig -l group makes sense. Did you mean ifconfig -g group?

    Here is the output from ifconfig -l
    vr0 vr1 vr2 pfsync0 lo0 pflog0 enc0 vr0_vlan2 pptpd0 pptpd1 pptpd2 pptpd3 pptpd4 pptpd5 pptpd6 pptpd7 pptpd8 pptpd9 ipfw0

    Here is the output from ifconfig -g pptp
    pptpd0

    Sounds like it may be a kernel panic. You could install a developer kernel and then instead of rebooting when it hits a panic, it will stop. You can then look at the console and see what the error is, get a backtrace ("bt" at the debug prompt) and then post them here for us to look over. Even if you don't have a serial console, a picture of the screen will work. Even a cell phone picture will be OK as long as it is legible.
