nothing in any of the logs. Will try and force a reinstall from the console then if it should be fine. I was just going to leave it until tomorrow and then install tonight's update.
Rules on the OpenVPN tab should do it… Or you could also assign the OpenVPN interface as an OPT interface and put rules on each one individually, but that shouldn't really be needed just for this.
You could try enabling MSS clamping on the VPN. System > Advanced, Misc tab, adjust it down a bit more, maybe 1400. You could also try checking the box to clear invalid DF bits on the Firewall/NAT tab under the Advanced options as well.
Sounds like it may be a kernel panic. You could install a developer kernel and then instead of rebooting when it hits a panic, it will stop. You can then look at the console and see what the error is, get a backtrace ("bt" at the debug prompt) and then post them here for us to look over. Even if you don't have a serial console, a picture of the screen will work. Even a cell phone picture will be OK as long as it is legible.
