@bitslammer said in Unable to check for updates/ No packages available: pkg: invalid url: /pfSense_plus-v22_05_armv7-core Yeah, that path doesn't look good : no host name what so ever, so very invalid. Look here for a nice story and solution.

All repositories are up to date. >>> Setting vital flag on pkg... done. Your packages are up to date It's true, once in a while, there is actually an issue with the Netgate's packet and update servers. So, not your side, but their side. When that happens, there is no need to do anything, as it would impact us all. Among the 100 000+ pfSEnse users, there will be always one who grabs the phone and call jimp, stephenw10 or who ever work at Netgate, and it will get fixed moments later. Most often, like 99 %, it's a local fckd up DNS. Call your admin ;) 0,9 % : your ISP is definitely not expensive enough. 0,09 % : the peering to Netgate went dark (peering == the connection from your ISP to the Netgate server farm) 0,001 : That will be the Netgate servers ....like this (15/08) time. And yeah, these things happen. Even Facebook disappeared from the Internet, no so long ago.

Here is the thread: Update Check Thanks! This script escaped detection during my searches.

You should already have access to the upgrade branch. Just select it from the update settings and you should be able to upgrade to Plus. Steve

It does what it can on the most recent version(s) but IIRC there are a couple edge cases that the upstream library itself doesn't handle well that our outside of our control (or pkg). We try to find and replicate/fix them as we can.

@faust said in Unable to check for updates, Package Manager not working: So, I may have found a solution. Files in /usr/local/share/pfSense/pkg/repos where all empty, so I have just recovered those files from another exact same pfSense version (and model). And everything seems OK now. this was the fix for me as well. good thing we had a similar netgate 3100 elsewhere!

@cyphonsqr said in Installed pfSense to new mSATA, but device always boots from eMMC. (NetGate 4860 Desktop): Had to completely format both drives (eMMC and mSATA) and remove the ZFS partition data. Yes, when ZFS is involved the only solution to installing to a SATA device involves reformatting/zeroing out the eMMC or it will attempt to boot from the eMMC instead.

I created the group via pfsense web interface like 10 years ago when I first setup the VPN server. I actually just deleted it from pfsense using the web interface, and re ran pkg update -f; pkg upgrade -y and rebooted.

@jonathanlee said in 22.05 Question about pkg-upgrade command: @jimp thanks for the information, "pkg upgrade -f" will show 219 and upgrade them. "pkg update" just updates right? And "pkg clean" cleans up left over items? update updates the metadata. upgrade upgrades packages from one version to another. clean removes the cached download archive files.
