Another way to check outside connectivity: With the 5G modem connected to pfSense, if you go to Diagnostics / Ping and select WAN2 as source address, are you able to reach (ping) outside websites? If you are able to ping websites, but the Gateway is still showing as offline (when you are using an outside monitoring IP such as 8.8.4.4), you may need to adjust the Data Payload parameter for dpinger from the default 1 to a larger value in the WAN2 gateway's advanced settings under System / Routing / Gateways. https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/routing/gateway-configure.html#advanced-gateway-settings Hope this helps.

@stephenw10 I will have to wait until the end of the semester to test again it malformed the data on the boot environment after also. So, I had to use another one I have multiples of them in case a test failed glad I made some, I am so thankful for boot environments, it failed I was up in 3 mins after I got a term session going again.

@KOOL43 Well thats hard to say. I have a 2100 with a running GPON 1.25/2.5 BiDi SFP trancievers from fs.com. Before that I tested it with a Nokia tranciever with similar specs, and that also worked without issues (but was a loaner). So I would expect it to work, but it’s impossible to guarantee it up front.

@the-other Thanks. the interface is set to auto... the TrendNet will auto negotiate at whatever is needed up to GB speeds Bouncing the TrendNet makes everything work...for about 5 minutes... this is driving me crazy

@keyser you can’t. I did open a feature request in redmine to allow the option to put in a professional key.

@chrisjx Hi, I also have a location with two ISPs, one is the primary and the second is a Starlink. So I know how to setup the LAN4 as a OPT and assigned VLAN 40 to it. But how do I make sure the Starlink is on VLAN 40 then? Did you managed to get this working? BR Nick
