As long as the ends have different addresses, within the same subnet, it should work. PfSense does that for you automagically. It assigns the first usable address to itself and subsequent addresses to the client(s). All you have to do is pick the subnet.

It's already not loading them. You can see they are not listed in your kldstat output.

Adding those lines to loader.conf won't change anything. They are loader variables you have to add them there, adding them as sysctls does nothing.

You are only seeing those lines at all because you're booting verbose.

Sounds as if you're having hardware issue...try pfSense 2.4.5rc to see whether you have the same exact issue.

you can have multiple tunnel configured, i don't see why not

If you just want to do DNS bases blacklisting you could take a look at pfBlockerNG.
