Request for Continued Support of Squid Package Dear Netgate Team, Could we please continue to support the Squid package? The upstream project has already resolved the known security issues, and it appears the main task remaining is updating the package to accommodate the recent PHP changes affecting the status page and address the decode issue. I’m unsure how to address this on my end and would greatly appreciate any guidance. Has anyone else looked into this, or is there a fix currently in progress? Thank you for your time and support. @NRgia said in Suricata on Pfsense: @bmeeks Thank you for what you did for Snort or Suricata. I'm not sure what you want me to do on Redmine, due to is a bug tracker. My question is for Product Management, which I will ask it here to be public: What is the plan for these 2 packages, Suricata and Snort? Thank you Yes, Redmine is for both bug reports and feature requests. Asking for the Suricata binary to be updated to the latest 7.0.11 version from upstream is a legitimate Redmine request. I would suggest simply asking for the binary version update instead of asking about future Netgate strategy (such as the support plans for the packages). Strategy discussions typically don't get very far because they deal with proprietary information or plans that a company may not want to publicly discuss. Redmine is where the Netgate developer team tracks all the code changes they make for pfSense. They will see Redmine reports much quicker than a forum post.

@Leon-Straathof Data retention settings are handled inside of ntopng. Documentation here. Pay attention to the RRD note. Also, if you've turned on some of the slice and dice time series information (is off by default), I'd suggest turning them back off. These balloon the storage requirements and are of little actual use.

@tinfoilmatt said in Failed or invalid Mime Type: [application/SIMH-tape-data|0]: (ASN data is IPinfo, not Maxmind) Thats correct but "GeoLite2-Country" is from Maxmind ... (that confused me) I'm considering simply adding "application/SIMH-tape-data" to the list to test. Thats what i tought too ... I'll try when I have the time for it ... Edit: I can confirm - adding "application/SIMH-tape-data" to the list at line 257 in /usr/local/pkg/pfblockerng/pfblockerng.inc did the trick - no more error! Edit: OK, problem resolved but I would like to know, whats the cause for that error! (SIMH-tape-data sounds like a "blast from the past" ...) Thanks a lot!

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

I also crashed my system yesterday with an ACME update. I can't say whether I had Crowdsec installed or not. But I've tried things like that in the past, so it's quite possible.

I have Wireguard installed on my firewalls. I have about 12 firewalls and most of them connect back to the main firewall which allows the connection to the servers in the main building. I setup a tunnel on each and then added each location as a peer on the Main firewall. This seemed to work except that the gateway. unde3r Monitor IP it only allows one IP address. So the first one works and shows connected fine, but the other 2 are red and do not connect. Everything seems to work until I added a 3rd peer and then the 1st peer showed as if it was offline even though it looked fine and I was able to connect to devices on that network. Am I supposed to add multiple gateways to the Main firewall so that shows as up? Is this the right way for the tunnels between the buildings which need access will work - By adding a tunnel at that location and just adding a peer to the main location?

@ermal: On 2.0 user rules are parsed before squid proxy rules or as you say squid does not bypass firewall rules. I cannot see this changing on 1.2 from my opinion. These lignes: case 'filter': foreach ($ifaces as $iface)           $rules .= "# Setup squid pass rules for proxy\n";           $rules .= "pass in quick on $iface proto tcp from any to !($iface) port 80 flags S/SA keep state\n"; Are in squid.inc

Well, as for stale data what seems to work so far is setting up a cron job to restart the driver every 30 minutes…. Just add to your config: <minute>/30</minute> <hour></hour> <mday></mday> <month></month> <wday>*</wday> <who>root</who> <command></command>/usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut.sh start

I only posted this in hopes that someone could point me in the directing of a how to or something of the sort. I know this should be pretty simple but I'm having problems with FreeRadius and/or my AP not allowing machines on the network. I'm using the PEAP configuration so that I can let users connect with a user name and password but my laptop will only associate then disassociate. It never pulls an IP address. I confirmed that my laptop (running Winblows XP) is configured to use peap and I gave it the user name and password but it associates then disassociates and it'll do it about half a dozen times then give up. Anyone have any ideas? I am currently using wallwatcher to see my router's output in real time but that's all that is going on. Edit: OK, so after finding the log file for the radius server (which I would like to have a tab avaliable for in the system logs area) I found that freeradius apparently isn't letting me connect because it says my user name and/or password is bad. I know they are good, I put them in and confirmed they are correct. I also have entered them in to my laptop and still no go….. The radius log states that it's a non-accounting port though my AP is configured for port 1882 or something. I don't remember anymore as I have been playing the the ports a bit trying to get this stupid thing to work. I've also received errors here and there that another radius server has been seen on the network on port 1892 though I don't have another radius server. Maybe it's the SBS box I have on the network which is going to be scrubbed soon. Anyhow, any suggestions? Any help here, I'm at a loss.

Many providers support more than one registration. Outbound calling can come from more than one location. The system that answers the Inbound call first is the one that gets the call. So ask your provider if they allow multiple registrations. I have asked flowroute.com and they allow it. You can route calls through one Gateway if you want to do it that way.

1.2.2 will soon be gone. open-vm-tools was all good yesterday when I installed it on my vmware server 2.0 But never the less if I remember correctly you should see the zabbix package and you could try to install it.

I solved it my self. Package info says 2.0.4, but package 2.2.2 installed. For others with similar problem, I solved by editing /usr/local/pkg/nut.xml and added <option><name>HP R3000 XR</name>                                         <value>bcmxcp00</value></option> to the end of the option list for UPS devices. Find the correct driver here: http://eu1.networkupstools.org/compat/stable.html and add 00 to the drivername (maybe increment it if you have other devices using same driver?) Mam
