Retested on 24.11-RELEASE (amd64) all seems to work. So it seems right to file a bug for this issue.

@pulsartiger The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat. With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

@EChondo What's your pfSense version ? The instructions are shown here : [image: 1753262126227-1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png] A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate. @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy: I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess. No need to wait x days. You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

Hi, about 2 years ago I tried to setup a site-2-site VPN with WG between pfSense and a Fritzbox. But due the to weird Fritzbox WG implementation I dismissed that after several fails and continued to use IPsec. Now I have a new site with a new Fritzbox and again I am trying to setup WG. But I stuck at one point: as far as I remember during my trials 2 years ago, I was able to use for both tunnels the same interface assignment: [image: 1754322720877-dba32db1-75fa-4d24-9d50-d78ee39f8caa-grafik.png] But now I cant set the VPNWG on tun_wg1 too, no chance. Do I remembering wrong? Or was there change in pfSense/WG package? Regards

pfSense does not block it.  IIRC, There is a technical limitation in the FreeBSD implementation of pf, ipctl, or Squid.  I can't recall as this was brought up some time ago.  The devs worked to find a solution, but it was not possible.  I think that pfSense 2.0 beta supports this, as whatever the limiting factor was has been upgraded (FreeBSD to v.8, pf, ipctl, etc.)

Ok, I have solved this… binding on LAN is ok (was due to siproxd beeing started at the same time as FreeSwitch). I can not load my "internal" profile… I keep on having this error : 2010-09-20 16:28:37.991317 [ERR] sofia.c:862 Error Creating SIP UA for profile: internal I also don't why FreeSwitch is binding on my external IP instead of my internal one… Las but not least if I remove my install and reinstall the port, I keep on having the same old config files that I have modified… What do I have to do to have a fresh install ?? Finaly the fault was all mine. After investigating why the port 5060 was taken, I remembered that I had the "siproxd" package installed and started. This is the reason why local trafic could not be started.

Squid is meant to proxy HTTP traffic, why are you passing FTP sessions to squid as well?

Setting the proxy port to tcp 80 would not solve your issue as the users would still need to have proxy settings in their machines.  Keep the proxy on the default port, block access from your LAN clients outbound to TCP 80, TCP 443 and force them to put proxy settings in place to get out.  This can be done more easily using a GPO if you're an AD site, or using WPAD.  As was pointed out, this will only work for HTTP traffic.

@podilarius: Hello, I am getting far to many false positives on my WAN interface as I have a very active FW. According to a few sites I have found, you can set sense_level to low for sfportscan. The option does not appear in pfSense. I would love to see a drop down box in the preprocessors screen to set this value. Is there another way to set this in the mean time? Thank you so much for you work on getting this into pfSense. Pod. Added to the todo list. James

@jimp: At the moment the only way to clean those up is to edit them out of your config.xml, and the easiest way to do that is to download a backup, edit them out, and then restore the backup. Thank you.

The best way to find out is to try it. As dvserg mentioned, the rules for the redirect used by the transparent proxy are part of the firewall (ipfw?), so it is doubtful that transparent proxy will work.

I know this is not designed as a file server - but our primary use is as a content filter, main firewall is seperate hardware. Thanks for the links - I suspect some experimentation is in order. Andrew

In the WebGUI, make sure you fill in ALL the fields (save for the outbound proxy fields if not used). Although the GUI does mention the default values, they aren't populated into the config file automatically.

Thanks for the advice, I only have 2 packages installed bandwidthd   System   No info, check the forum   2.0.1.2 rate Network Management No info, check the forum 0.9 when I install squid (it seems to crash when installing perl) I checked the pkg_ino I see -bandwithdd -db41_4-41.25 the berkly db package rev 4.1 -gd-20.35.1 - a graphics library for fast creation of images -jpeg-6b-4-1JG - jpeg compression library -libiconv - a character set conversion library I did delete 2 packages that were related to squid but it still crashes not those packages no longer show but the above is what is left.  I don't' want to mess up the system so I'm being cautious should I erase any of the above? right after squid is extracted i get this message Downloading package configuration file… done. Saving updated package information... done. Downloading squid and its dependencies... done. Checking for successful package installation... failed! Installation aborted.

With transparent proxy it listens on localhost (127.0.0.1) and traffic coming in on the LAN side gets redirected there. Be sure you have also selected "allow users on interface" or add an ACL to make sure systems on the LAN side are allowed to hit the proxy. Otherwise we'll need more information, more than "nothing works" - specific information like error messages, system log contents, etc.
