@microserfs and what IP was that - clearly your current IPv6 address is not block that I show you connected with.. And the only other IPv4 I see you using is not blocked.. You would have to let me know what IP you were coming from that was blocked.. Send it to me via PM if you don't want to make it public.

Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation
    https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option
You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

If you are asking how to allow access to pfSense's webConfigurator from the Internet, keep in mind that it isn't considered good practice. Check http://blog.pfsense.org/?p=232 from which I quote:

To proactively protect your network from issues like this that may be discovered in the future, restrict access to the management interface as much as possible. First, never open any web management interface’s port to the entire Internet! If you require access from the WAN side, be as restrictive as possible with source IPs or networks. Using a VPN connection and accessing the admin interface by internal IP over VPN is a more secure solution for remote administration.

You should also restrict management access on your internal network in many environments. If you’re administering a small home network, you probably don’t care. If it’s a network with dozens, hundreds, or thousands of devices, restricting access internally is strongly recommended. There is a howto on the doc site describing how restrict management access in pfSense. You should investigate similar controls on your other web managed devices.

HDD's always come out and either get picked up/dropped off seperately or packed in plastic and put on a backpack. Heavy but much less vibration :)

Incase someone searches and finds this later on - it really did weigh 280 lbs. I got it down to about 125 lbs by removing the side & top panels, doors and all brackets (and the batteries that were 200# each).

    I'll post a picture in a few.

    Main Features:

Creates a virtual encrypted disk within a file and mounts it as a real disk.

Encrypts a partition or drive where Windows is installed (pre-boot authentication).

So apparently it's a driver setting or somesuch.  I left the WD tool to run and came back to find the machine had gone to sleep.  So I changed the power setting to high power so it wouldn't sleep anymore.

    The pauses disappeared.

So now I need to figure out what setting in the power options is making it act that way.

I would say bit torrent as well.

One thing you could do is add an alias for hosts and add all those hosts to that alias and set up a block rule, this way they would get blocked but not logged (so you longs will not get spammed any more)

Another option is to install a package such as IPBlock List or Country Block and block them that way. Country Block works great to block other country IP addresses, but it wont work if you need other countries to access your resources.

There isn't enough demand to have a board dedicated to just that. General Discussion would be an OK place for that.

The application failed.  After several weeks working properly it stopped recording several days ago and I've lost track of my bandwidth for good.

Any idea why suddenly it stopped working?

I don't show bandwidthd as being 2.0, and there are different squid packages for 1.2.3 branch and 2.0 branch.

May I ask why you have that router between your users and pfsense?  Is it natting or just routing?

Why not just put the users on the pfsense lan?  If your router supplies wireless, then just use it as an accespoint.

    changes here: http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/2.0_New_Features_and_Changes

For most people's usage there is no difference. If you rely on certain packages that the maintainer hasn't kept up to date for those we don't maintain ourselves, they may not work. Other than that, 2.0 is better than 1.2.3 in every regard at this point, has considerably fewer bugs (though those outstanding in both versions are highly unusual to encounter). The only other thing you can encounter on occasion is hardware-specific regressions between FreeBSD 7.2 and 8.1, though those are rare and we've back ported newer drivers in some instances to resolve.

I believe that only people matching the spammer database in use (either by username, e-mail, or IP) get stuck in the queue for approval. If someone doesn't match at all, I thought they went right through. Looking through the list of people in the queue waiting for approval, they all have at least one field flagged for spamming.
