Arfff… Ok, If I've correctly understood, I do not use the correct command, I must use /sbin/shutdown -h now, like in Linux. Thank you KOM.

Well for starters 3380 is not the default port, 3389 is – are you trying to do this from outside from your wan to your lan?  Are you trying this from a lan machine to another lan machine?  If so then pfsense has nothing to do with that connection unless your routing segments on your local network with pfsense? Lets get some details - what is the ip of source, ip of dest machine - make sure your using the correct port for rdp - 3389 is default, did you change it on dest machine to 3380?  Are you running firewall on dest machine, if so even if coming from other than local network you would have to adjust the built in windows firewall to all for that. Also if you are attempting from outside your network, and doing a forward - you sure your actually outside - attempting from local lan machine to public IP to get forwarded back in is loopback or reflection - did you enable that in pfsense? This sounds like your just local "from computer 1 to computer 2." if your going from say 192.168.1.x to 192.168.1.y then pfsense would have nothing to do with that connection..

Changed the vm.kmem_size_max="535544320" to 536870912 and the error went away during boot. Now the logs shows this…. Still confused but on a higher level … It seems that it is difficult to choose newer hardware ... There should be a compatibility list that guide newer users which hw to choose from

If you have a VLAN capable managed switch you could just use the single onboard NIC with multiple VLAN interfaces, router-on-a-stick style.

Here's a pretty useful converter for bytes to bits. I know this seems silly, but we just need to have all of the information laid out and converted properly. Hope you understand! http://www.matisse.net/bitcalc/

I have decided to not use MAC filter, rather WiFi password access. I tried setting up WiFi password access by navigating to: pfSense > Interfaces > WiFi > Network-specific wireless configuration > WEP > untick Enable WEP > WPA > tick Enable WPA > PSK: password > WAP Mode: WPA2 > Save > Apply. My mobile device now won't find the pfSense WiFi? Any suggestion on how to set up pfSense password access to WiFi please?

Not a big fan of using pfsense as AP..  Just makes no sense to me – I would use a real AP, just so many more features and functionality that way. But I do believe a ifconfig should show your hostap settings.  When you do ifconfig do you see a hostap section?  What does it show?

@MindfulCoyote: I'm confused ??? (per usual). Like this? Internet <–> [ 1Gbps NIC - Desktop Computer - AC1900 NIC ] <-Wi-Fi-> [DD-WRT on R7000] <–> Client Devices With pfSense then virtual on the Desktop Computer? Sorry, somehow I missed this! I have it set up like so: Internet (cable modem) <-WAN-> 1 Gbps NIC (onboard MOBO) - 1 Gbps Intel NIC <-LAN-> R7000 setup as AP (no DD-WRT for now) pfSense is running as the full blown OS on the computer I built, it's not virtual, all physical!
