I have also have a problem with the auto update feature. The url entered in Updater Setting page is never used. Here is the Auto Update informations used instead:
A new version is now available
New version: Tue Jun 24 14:40:14 EDT 2008
Current version: 1.2.1-TESTING-SNAPSHOT
Update source: http://updates.pfSense.com/_updaters
Hi,
Thanks for the help- either the daughterboard wasn't installed with correct contact with all the pins (the led's on the back lit when a cable was plugged in) or it was an IRQ conflict with the Dlink NIC I had installed. or possibly something else….
In any case; it is working correctly now.
User error in this case, I think. That's what I get for trying to do this stuff half asleep.
@firestar:
It doesn't allow me to assign interfaces as it should be.
To do that is necessary to answer no to this question:
Do you want to set up VLANs now [y|n]?
…but then it asks the same question forever denying me to step over and use a newer version of pfSense on my Alix2c3.
I loaded 1.2.1 on my ALIX and it works fine. Anything you enter there other than "y" will skip VLAN assignment and move to interface assignment. No clue how you could have ended up with anything different, that code hasn't changed at all since 1.2 release.
I learned something today…
the repair option for networking does not do a release/ renew like I thought it did...
Release / Renew does in fact work! Sorry for the mixup... Seems the "repair" option worked before with 1.2R but Ive been known to be wrong...
:(
now with the last version (1.2.1-TESTING-SNAPSHOT - built on Thu Jul 10 00:10:45 EDT 2008) it doesn't work.
the DashBoard there is not even in the list of the packets.
I have tried to restore a backup without the save of the packages but it doesn't have work.
Swicthed back to 1.2-stable yesterday, flashed though webgui with no problem, today im testing pfSense**-Full-Update-1.2.1-TESTING-SNAPSHOT-20080708-0725.gz** . Status: RRD Graphs page works now, great !.
