Out of the box there is a LAN -> ANY rule. If you deleted that or customized the rules in some way that disallowed access, it was only doing as you asked it to do. If it isn't shown in that list of firewall rules, it wouldn't get through, even to the firewall itself.

You do not need policy-based routing for static routes. You may have introduced some kind of asymmetric routing in the process, especially if that other network is reached via an IP on the same network where the client is. With the gateway as default, the firewall will send back an ICMP redirect and the client will talk directly to the other router. With PBR, the firewall will try to forward it there on its own. You probably also want to go to System > Advanced on the Firewall/NAT tab and check the box to bypass firewall rules for directly connected networks.

Ok Im am no expert for sure, but a simple google for mac filtering with ipfw, first thing I think that would have to happen is to turn on sysctl -a | grep ether.ipfw net.link.ether.ipfw: 0 I believe this has to be 1 to do layer 2 checks in ipfw?? I think once you set that then sure you could write your own rules.  I would suggest you put in a feature request if you want the gui to be able to do it, or start posting a bounty.

Probably not going to be in 2.0, we're trying not to make any unnecessary changes at this point. It was discussed earlier this week, so probably for 2.1 if racoon supports it properly.

Hi, get the same problem by installation from a USB Stick on a HDD. Tried out with SATA and ATA, result the same. What can be cause this problem? The installation from CD works also not, I get not the GEOM error but the installation fails, becuase the installer cennot find anymore the HDD. Other OS installation works without any problems. I found out that in the bootblock menu I see ad0 (my Harddrive) and da0 (the USB Stick), both have the flag to install bootblock. PD

What is the date of your snapshot? For a while the "PPTP Clients" macro was broken, causing exactly the problem you describe.

Yes, those statistics are read from counters in pf. If pf is disabled… no statistics. We had to do that in order to properly count traffic, iirc. pf uses 64-bit counters and the OS still used 32-bit counters in places, which overflowed far too quickly on fast interfaces.

Ok still no advanced button, why?? I am up to date with commits as of this morning. I can get it to show if I edit this line in system_gateways_edit.php line 404 1) || (isset($pconfig['interval']) && $pconfig['interval'])) echo "style='display:none'"; ?>> to say display:block vs none - which makes sense.  But there why is it not set to that on its own. Shouldn't this button be shown all the time, why hide it if something is not set?

thank, you are right no hardware problem no pfsense bug (puh). is a problem with my bridge - sometime the 'switch think' the pf is on the other side :( but the bridge know it better.

On the 11th I contacted customercare@zoneedit.com They told me there were no ddns issues known. On the 12th I sent another message to them and behold… on the 15th they sent me There was an issue last week with dynamic DNS not updating the zone. This should be working now. You might want to have them check your account / ddns logs.
