What You need then? Simply, I'm trying to set QoS internally using pfSense. Let's assume it routes traffic between 192.168.1.x for WAN and 192.168.2.x for LAN. 192.168.1.1 - D-Link router 192.168.1.253 - pfSense WAN 192.168.2.254 - pfSense LAN Can You point me to information how FreeBSD shapes traffic for download? It's never shaped for my slow (2Mbit) download… I always get full download & high icmp responses to several common sites, tried several combinations in creator (XMLs), tried setting this download limit manually..

There is no archive. The snapshots take up way too much disk space to keep around much longer than that. Is there a reason you need an older one?

I have just tried with: 2.1-BETA1 (amd64) built on Wed Feb 13 16:49:01 EST 2013 FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p5 It is not fixed. Will try with later snapshots once they become available. <edit>This seems to be fixed in the latest snapshot. 2.1-BETA1 (amd64) built on Thu Feb 14 04:54:28 EST 2013 FreeBSD 8.3-RELEASE-p5</edit>

@Ecnerwal: Given that one effect is no traffic gets through, the (automagical) bug report won't, either. Actually, I think this works, since the firewall has connectivity, it just doesn't route. Rolling back to yesterday as well.

After manually entering all of my settings from a backup configuration, I believe I found a more concrete answer than 'something in the upgrade path'. I have a multi-wan setup and do load balancing and prioritization across each link. Everything on the clean installed worked fine until I had loaded all of the rules in (which is where outbound gateways are defined). It seems that between the April 17 2012 snapshot that I was running and last weeks, something changed with how internal IPs and directly connected networks are routed when the default rule for an interface does load balancing. I believe the change occurred in a more narrow timeframe as I have had this issue on other snapshots I tried as well, prior to list week, including a Sept 2012 snapshot. I am not sure how many others have come across this issue, or if you always needed a rule per interface to handle internal/direct connected networks and the snapshot I was using had a bug that ignored that, but it would be good to know what changed in regards to that and why. Thanks all for reading about my troublesome weekend messing with pfSense snapshots.

@jcyr: Try changing the server list in Setup->General, and see if ntpd picks up the changes. I added a third host/pool to NTP server list and it picked up the change immediately. My Windows workstation had issues syncing to pfSense's NTP before I restarted Win32time, but that's working again too.
