      @modesty said in How to open UDP port 1883 to IoT Cayenne my devices:

      My IoT device is connected to my LAN (WiFi) to 192.168.0.52 (static) and is sending packets to my Cayenne dashboard.

      So allow the packets to the dashboard IP instead of the pfSense interface IP. At destination select single host and enter the dashboard IP.

      @adrianx

      in the mean time you could try and find the differences between the DDOS packets & the good packets by doing packet captures (& analyzing them in wireshark)

      @Derelict We actually have 2 phone systems from a merger. A on premise phone system (that works great) and AT&T hosted voice. Calls on the AT&T drop randomly. AT&T refuses to be of any help because it's a network problem and to be fair if i put the phones on a router with the udp timeout changed it does work.

      The reason I am trying to move it off the current router is QOS. Which has been a problem before because we were running 3 routers for different network segments off the same internet connections and 1 router could use all the bandwidth and starve the other routers.

      You will neef IGMP proxy for 'discovery' to work. Unless you can use mDNS instead in which case try Avahi.

      Of coarse if you can enter the IP address of the NAS directly in the devices then you don't need either. But alas that's too easy for most manufacturers it seems.
