Can I use pgblockerng aliases in Haproxy?

    80758505-9bad-4dad-a80b-c159be1045a2-image.png

If it was a firewall rule, typing pfb would produce a dropdown to select.

Here it has to be written, but will it work? Is it supported?

@bmeeks So after upgrading to the newest PfSense 2.8.0 everything is now working like a charm!

Suricata no longer seems to strip off tags like it did before! Which means I can now use my network segmented by VLANs and still use the benefits of Suricata Inline IPS! Very niiize!

I checked in the Alerts section and it is indeed generating the correct alerts from the different VLAN sections, I put Inline IPS on the parent interface of all the VLANs.

I assume this is because the FreeBSD version is also updated with the new PfSense 2.8.0 version?

Because before, as soon as I selected Inline IPS mode, my entire VLAN tagging would break and nothing was reachable until I switched back to Legacy mode.

The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat.
With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

    @EChondo

    What's your pfSense version ?
The instructions are shown here :

    1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png

A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate.

@EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy:

I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess.

No need to wait x days.
You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

I had a similar issue with Routed VTI over IPsec recently. FRR lost its neighbors after rebooting or when a tunnel went down. It never re-discovered it automatically. Only restarting FRR (either in GUI or via CLI) brought the neighbors back.

When I manually added those under the OSPF neighbors tab in the GUI it seems to solve the problem as well.

    Hello,
I am unable to get the Tailscale package to work. The page at VPN > Tailscale > Authentication is stuck. It displays the error "Tailscale is not online," but also shows a "Logout and Clean" button, with no option to log in.
    link text

This state persists even after performing the following troubleshooting steps:

    Rebooting the pfSense router.

Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Tailscale package multiple times.

Clearing browser cache and using a private browser window.

Toggling the main "Enable Tailscale" checkbox in the settings.

Checking the logs, which show the service gets a "terminate" signal and shuts down cleanly; it does not crash.

Manually trying to delete the state file with rm /var/db/tailscale/tailscaled.state, which failed because the file does not exist.

It appears that the package's configuration is corrupted in a way that persists even after reinstallation. Can anyone advise on how to perform a complete manual cleanup of all Tailscale files and settings?

I've read through some other posts about this, but they either didn't say whether the proposed solution worked or they were very convoluted and difficult to understand. Here is our scenario: We have 6 locations--Las Cruces (LC), Sunland Park (SP), El Paso (EP), Abilene (ABI), Fort Worth (FW), and Plano (PL). LC and ABI have software that is accessed by the other 4 locations via VPN. There are WireGuard VPNs set up between LC and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL), and ABI and those 4 locations (SP, EP, FW, PL). There is also a WireGuard VPN connection between LC and ABI. LC and ABI have 2 internet connections. SP, EP, FW, and PL each have one internet connection.

If the primary internet connection goes down at either LC or ABI and failover occurs to the secondary internet connection, is there a way to set up the WireGuard VPN connections so that they also failover without purchasing some 3rd party application?

    Thanks.

uTorrent will get out on a single open port including DNS. I have been unsuccessful in being able to completely block p2p. More and more p2p torrent applications will tunnel their way through anything.
Even if you block every single tracker out there DHT will still work.

If this is for a work environment or a place where there are professional consequences then the only way to handle p2p traffic completely is to have your users sign an agreement and hold them accountable when that agreement is broken.

seems I am talking to myself here.. :(

I parsed the access.log file and the dates are missing there also.. so either the user switched off the pfsense box or squid just stopped working….
No rotation was on, so perhaps the log files just got too big?
Can someone tell me the relation of the Squid rotate log scheduler (for Squid light) and the Log rotate setting in my proxy server? Currently the latter is 30, if I make the Squid light setting "weekly at Saturday" surely I must change the squid setting to 7 then?

    thx.

I downloaded the latest rules, enabled some of them and also enabled preprocessors. The directory snort is looking for does not exist, do you think it could be missing from the latest snort package? I didn't have this problem with the previous version.

I'll add it, but a warning, if your pc that connects to Pfsense gets blocked reboots will not save your skin.

    Welcome to Installation

With this option, it is possible to install phpBB3 onto your server.

In order to proceed, you will need your database settings. If you do not know your database settings, please contact your host and ask for them. You will not be able to continue without them. You need:
The Database Type - the database you will be using.
The Database server hostname or DSN - the address of the database server.
The Database server port - the port of the database server (most of the time this is not needed).
The Database name - the name of the database on the server.
The Database username and Database password - the login data to access the database.

Note: if you are installing using SQLite, you should enter the full path to your database file in the DSN field and leave the username and password fields blank. For security reasons, you should make sure that the database file is not stored in a location accessible from the web.

    phpBB3 supports the following databases:
MySQL 3.23 or above (MySQLi supported)
    PostgreSQL 7.3+
    SQLite 2.8.2+
    Firebird 2.1+
MS SQL Server 2000 or above (directly or via ODBC)
    Oracle

Only those databases supported on your server will be displayed.

    How to complete them?

I had similar problem with some sites (sorceforge.net was one of them) with the same error.

The problem was snort and an ET rule.

Find the IP of that site and search in the blocked (snort) IPs and search for an Alert with the IP in /var/log/snort/alert file.

I have been running into problems when it comes to updating squid. I just install squid3, uninstall squid, uninstall squid3 install squid. Could be I just need to redo the FWs but it works for now, at least for me its not that big a deal.

OK. I setup a second instance in logging-only mode with just the rules that would be relevant to the workstations I'm concerned with (virus, malware, phishing, etc). After I get a better idea of what rules are relevant to the LAN, and which are relevant to the WAN, I'll divide the rulesets between the two sensors and have both operate in blocking mode. I think this would be the most efficient use of resources.

I rolled the 1.2.3 package down to the previous version again.

I had feedback from someone on the forum who said it worked after the change was made, but it seems to cause problems for others.

After about 5 minutes it should show up on the package server.

well i am sorry to bother you. i guess my mistake though. I even tried to install 1.2.3 which at first run on the default config ACL of squidguard. and then when i try to create some custom ACLs and Destinations then that trigger the problem for squidguard not to filter anything at all. I should be very carefull on that.
I return back my hard drive with 2.0 beta4 installation and reconfigure the ALCs and Destinations and it's working fine again.

thank you very much. cheers! :)

Im going to assume just packages on PF as thats all you listed

Snort- no blocking as on one system it likes to block itself, just lets me know about the malicious traffic
Squid- speed up Internet, also can prove who did what if accused of something because of the http logs
Country Block-I block country's I dont like in and out
Cron- i run clamav, other stuff listed there is standard or required by a package
    dashboard-see everything at a glance
phpSysInfo- see how components are doing
    nut-so it turns off gracefully
ntop/darkstat-mostly for statistics and future planning
nmap-basic scanning from fw, for more basic i use a diff system

https does not work with transparent mode. It can't, due to the way SSL security works.

As for configuring the proxy settings, have a look here:

Try the squidguard Default and ACL or squid proxy server settings. No need to setup each browser for a proxy. I tested it on my network.
