Retested on 24.11-RELEASE (amd64) all seems to work. So it seems right to file a bug for this issue.

@pulsartiger The database name is vnstat.db and its location is under /var/db/vnstat. With "Backup Files/Dir" we are able to do backup or also with a cron.

So you're using the CARP IP address for the pfBlockerNG redirects? May I ask why that's necessary?

@jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: Interesting. I would have thought the initial reboot, which occurred as part of the upgrade, would have done the trick, but it took a second reboot, just now, to get things working. Glad you have it sorted. There was no difference in the output of usbconfig show_ifdrv at any point -- before or after unplugging/replugging the USB cable, nor after rebooting. ... Question: What would tell me whether or not a driver was loaded? If there were an attached driver, it should have shown up with the show_ifdrv command. If you use the command and look at the other usb devices, I think they will show attached drivers. I don't expect to see a driver attached to the ups, because there is a quirk that tells the OS to ignore that device (and not attach a driver). Look for idVendor and idProduct in the above output. The Vendor ID for your device is 0764, which corresponds to Cyber Power Systems, and the Product ID for your device is 0601, which is registered as "PR1500LCDRT2U UPS" (don't sweat an exact match for the name). You can see the quirk with the following command: [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: usbconfig dump_device_quirks | grep 0764 VID=0x0764 PID=0x0005 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0501 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE VID=0x0764 PID=0x0601 REVLO=0x0000 REVHI=0xffff QUIRK=UQ_HID_IGNORE [25.07-RC][root@fw]/root: Your device is third on the list. The HID_IGNORE quirk says to ignore the device and not attach a driver. @jhg said in NUT fails to start after 2.7.2 -> 2.8.0 upgrade: You might consider adding this resolution to the release notes for 2.8. LOL... sorry, I don't have input to the release notes (I don't work here). While I wrote and maintain various packages, including NUT, I'm still just a volunteer. Most packages are actually written by volunteers.

@EChondo What's your pfSense version ? The instructions are shown here : [image: 1753262126227-1acdc586-cb29-4148-9e36-81ade4e5e60c-image.png] A restart of a service will start by re creating their config files. If a certificate changed, it will get included. When the process starts, it will use the new certificate. @EChondo said in Issue with ACME Certificates Refresh & Restarting HAProxy: I haven't been able to confirm if the above works(mine just renewed, don't feel like doing it again just to test), so we'll see in 60 days I guess. No need to wait x days. You can re test / renew right away, as you are 'allowed' to renew a couple (5 max ?) of times per week.

@lbm_ said in How to update to the latest Tailscale version?: https://pkg.freebsd.org/FreeBSD:15:amd64/latest/All/tailscale-1.84.2_1.pkg pkg: An error occured while fetching package I would recommend verifying the DNS settings in PfSense and verifying date/time is correct. Barring that, try again later and see if it still fails. I was able to successfully run the command on my 2.8.0 install (I didn't install it because I've already installed it) so it seems localized.

Hi again, to be honest: I guess, I did not remember exactly what I did 2 years ago. May I was mistaken by the interface name opt2 because the SG-3100 has a physical port OPT1 and I mixed up physical and virtual names. The goal was to use 2 different tunnels, one for the mobile clients and one for the site-2-site connection. And now all is running in that way . Regards

Hi, Thanks for your reply! I changed the function is_iprange to is_iprange_new and i had the function "is_ipaddr_valid" as it contains a call to the function is_iprange as well, I had only to change it to is_iprange_new and it is working like a charm, thanks. Kind regards, David Negreira.

Thank you. Using an external web server did the trick. I do have some suggestions for anyone else wanting to set this up 1. Download http://www.pfsense.com/xmlrpc.tgz 2. Extract xmlrpc.tgz to your www root (to simplify) 3. edit /etc/inc/globals.inc     change``` "xmlrpcbaseurl" => "<ip_of_webserver>"</ip_of_webserver> 4\. Use pkg_config.xml as a template (from xmlrpc.tar). The header information is vital.     keep stored in wwwroot/packages Number 4 is my observation that I wish was more clear to me when first setting this up. Thank you all for your help.

Out of inodes implies that there were a lot of small files so the filesystem ran out of pointers for files before it ran out of space. This isn't unusual for something such as squid. You will need to rm -rf /var/squid/cache, possibly from the console and not ssh (it may not let you login in this situation) That will probably take a while to run. You can check the inode usage of a drive by using: df -i And reading the iused/ifree/%iused columns If you really can't reinstall the squid package, you may also need to get a backup of your config, edit out the squid settings, and restore the config.

It's actually working fine (aside from installing the documentation, which will fail, but it's still there). You don't seem to have run 'rehash' after doing the pkg_add, that's probably all you need.

COSS+AUFS: COSS is for small content size. AUFS is for large content size. both separated by Object size. Your COSS size is too big. If you restart more often then you don't need that big. Most accessed contents range from 1byte to 8Kbyte. I recommend use 10KB to 16KB(thumbnail picture size) for object size. On restart COSS contents will be lost(developent still on progress for this issue) for your memory issues: squid/lusca would use 10MB per GB of total cache(when full). http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq/SquidMemory#How_much_memory_do_I_need_in_my_Squid_server.3F If your system starts to use SWAP file(due to lack of RAM) then it will definitely slows your internet. Squid/lusca starts to grow Page faults it also affects performance. You might need to consider changing your cache_mem and give them to your OS. This FAQ would help you. http://wiki.squid-cache.org/SquidFaq

Take a look at the file /usr/local/pkg/squid.inc  I'm sure you'll have to make changes to some of the paths but it should be possible.  pfSense rebuilds the Squid.conf file at each boot from the squid.inc file.  Good luck.

Kinda reviving this thread but is it possible de choose what rules should trigger a block ? Right now it seems by default every single alert creates a block which means there is ALOT of false positives so activating the auto block is just suicide. It also seems impossible to edit the basic rules for http_inspecter and ftp because they get overwritten each time you restart the service, you can add stuff in the configuration form but you can't edit section that are already in the default conf. (thinking about the "http_inspect: NON-RFC DEFINED CHAR" that alot of people are getting) Thanks !
