@stephenw10 This is my final note since it seem you will always look at this as an endpoint. It doesn't appear, it actually is, the facts are the facts. Still, moderator usually have a way to remove posts and ban single users, not just the entire herd, or at least the ones use. Perhaps those are more advance, or perhaps netgate forums lack that functionality. I never said negate took this issue lightly, I was just looking for some feedback. I have seen this process many times and for the looks of it, pfsense CE is very much in maintenance mode. Just because netgate wants to be politically correct does not mean it is not. The fact are there and they are fallowing the same path as others did. Again, this subject is just becoming redundant and it is affecting other users in the forum.

@sef1414 Name it "run.sh", copy to pf and chmod according documentation https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/development/boot-commands.html#shell-script-option You will see messages in the system log like those quoted in the script after logger command.

@P3R Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. I was just trying to help you understand that what's required for this to work is so improbable as to be essentially impossible. The author of that article apparently doesn't know enough about Ethernet & IP to understand that.

@pi I think I’ve been dealing with something similar. You could theoretically load pfBlocker up with so many lists that it introduces additional load to your CPU that in turn adds latency to your system affecting video conferences and VOIP. What packages are you running?

@stephenw10 said in * SOLVED* CBRAS setup question: Go to Firewall > VirtualIPs. Add a new VIP with type IPAlias on the WAN. Set the static IP and give it a description. Now go to Diag > Ping and try to ping something external using the new VIP as the source IP. If it succeeds you're good. Steve No dice PING google.com (142.250.68.14) from 71.33.XXX.73: 56 data bytes --- google.com ping statistics --- 3 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100.0% packet loss

Hello: Great idea. Being that you created your own mounting bracket, any chance you can give back to the pfSense community with the STL file(s)? Have a great day.

Well, there are a lot of options. You can connect any NIC to any internal Linux Bridge. You could connect them in a lagg. There are many ways you could use two NICs in a Proxmox host. https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/chapter-sysadmin.html#_choosing_a_network_configuration Steve

Thank you for your help, i never heard about it, i was usually using ping and traceroute command. i am not a specialist. I maybe gave a wrong explanation, but as you said it's not about pfsense son i should ask to ubuntu users. My question was about why it was working when the dhcp on pfsense was enabled and static ip on ubuntu, but not with dhcp was disabled and static ip on ubuntu. For sure it's something about the dns I hoped to find an answer here because i thought i has something to do with the dhcp server but it's not... I'll try other linux/ubuntu forums or just switch to another operating system. Many thanks for your help man ! I appreciate it, you made me understand things I understood/learned wrong. Big up ;-)
