@BlueKobold: Your router or firewall should be placed in the same VLAN as the Sonos products as well. If this will be not so you must do some monkeying around and setting up all switches that are involved into your network too! Here is an article that is describing how to set up the switch, that all is well playing together. Sonos and VLANs That sonos support doc shows the configuration for a cisco switch (who has those at home?) that I believe basically understand this igmp packet that I posted above and then re-broadcasts for you in the various ports/vlans. What I am asking is if it is possible to get a igmpproxy in pfsense that understands these igmp packets.

@johnpoz: "I always looked at the log every day to see who is attacking." Noise on the internet is not attacking ;)  I log the syn traffic.. But I don't want to see all the noise.. Out of state, UDP, etc. John Could you give an example of "just logging syn packets" I suppose you have a specific block rule with logging enables , and ANY w. SYN , and then a block rule wo. logging or ?? TIA /Bingo

Its never had anything to do with pfsense at all ;)  dns problem give you that, but it was never something specific to pfsense. Like I said something not right with their dns.. you shouldn't point to different stuff like that..  if you going to use a CDN fine, but it sholdn't point to different cnames and have ones that just do one and then others than have 3 in a daisy chain, etc..

At the moment, we plan to manually maintain any necessary security patches for 10.3. That is subject to change, naturally, if moving to 10.4 is easier than manually maintaining patches.

Use root, not admin. Or if you are using some other user that isn't root or admin, install the sudo package and grant that user rights to run commands as root (at least /etc/rc.reboot)

Hi, I have the same problem, I could not find an answer in the Russian online segment. In this link, I posted a dump that was saved from me. Prior to the transition to version 2.3.5, there was no such problem. gnid.core = 4.7 MB https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FYiG2Y3rgMQGxgXc4l9g8LBHHczfxRWY [image: var.run.109%25.jpg] [image: var.run.109%25.jpg_thumb] ![after rm var.run.gnidcore.jpg](/public/imported_attachments/1/after rm var.run.gnidcore.jpg) ![after rm var.run.gnidcore.jpg_thumb](/public/imported_attachments/1/after rm var.run.gnidcore.jpg_thumb)

I'm trying to get Sonos' stuff to cross vlans and not getting any luck with 2.4.2rc. See https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=140217.0

RRD is your graphs and charts. If you want to keep the history of your stats across installs add the RRD data when saving your config. Replacing a hard drive is trivial if you have your config backed up. Perform a clean install and restore your config.

@Grimson: Install pfSense, connect via SSH and follow the FreeBSD handbook: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/disks-adding.html Thank you Grimson…I found that page also and realized I'll have to wait for the NIC to come in.

@kroem: I've never used Avahi, but need to get Sonos working accorss VLANS - could someone with a working setup post their config maybe? I have one "media" VLAN and one "main" VLAN with controllers(ipads/phones) in the main one. I believe the only way will be to rebroadcast sonos' broadcasts on its own vlan.

@medicineman25: @chpalmer, thank you for the response. My apologies, I should clarify. Is this something that is simply set in the wizard and the opendns will update the ip with that url? Does opendns handle that? I am using a variant of a domain name that I already own, will that work? Or do I need to create another hostname for login? Ah!    You can use your DNS to reach anything you have setup on your network as long as you allow it in the firewall settings.    DNS is simply a name resolution to an IP address.  Use if for anything you need. kmart.com = 23.59.190.17

The brand new AC86u is capable of 100MB/s reads and 90MB/s write on samba and it only had a 1.8GHz processor. This is then on an eMMC flash storage and not on an SD card as on the RAPI, and on top of this that plastic routers came with ASIC and/or FPGA`s that frees up the entire CPU and it is able to do more. pfSense is a x86 software firewall and nothing more at this moment. An yes a small samba server should be not installed on it as I see it right like other also do, but you will be able to get a NAS with OwnCloud, Samba, Download station and whatever they all offers today, and connect it to your pfSense easy to get access from outside with a VPN connection.

@johnpoz: So did you go into your daytek and UNmarking "Broadcast DSL status to LAN" under ->System Maintenance->Management User johnpoz solved this in the above post. When I un-ticked this, no flooding anymore!!!! Yeee  8) For me this worked as the source of my broadcast traffic was my DSL modem, for other people this might be due to other traffic broadcasts in their networks.

Thanks yeah I'll give that a try. I just can't believe I'm struggling with such a basic problem…moving a file from Windows to FreeBSD. Would be a lot easier if I could figure out how to mount my USB stick (or if I could get the file uploaded with the file uploading feature). I'll investigate WinSCP. Thanks!

Just an update from my end, I had the systems replace by the vendor, sent me another system exactly the same. I got the same error the only common part was the network card (N2XX-AIPCI02 Intel Quad port GbE Controller (E1G44ETG1P20)) So i purchased another Network card this tie  Dual Intel Pro/1000 and everything works fine. I'm assuming the N2XX-AIPCI02 had some issues with the newer system, as it was working perfect in the older optiplex system. Thank you again for your help.
