Guy, like I already said I did a factory reset and used almost all default options except for a few (seemingly) inconsequential options like timezone etc…

I also said that there was an issue with port labels on the device and interface numbering not matching which meant I was using the wrong ports (LAN and WAN reversed) at first but now I swapped them to the correct position but still had some issues.

I dont find it a challenge to change LAN address or many other options, but blindly changing options when you dont know how they work is a bad idea. I was confused with some of the options worked like DHCP on LAN. I didnt see seperate DHCP option, that makes sense to me now. Thanks @Grimson for the DHCP explanation.

Te reason it did work with laptop connected irectl but not over network was bit silly, laptop was connecting to wifi from ISP router before firewall an desktop I tried had static ip (192.168.0.50) when pfsense used 192.168.1.1, so no wonder it didnt work.

Will try changing the ISP router ip next so my static ip's dont have to change when used with pfsense.

I have some virtual machines on my ESXI. One of them is for indexing my documents and to provide a search engine,
I were finally able to get searchdaimon running. Searchdaimon is unfortunately quite outdated and it seems,
that the devs are not working on this project anymore. The forum has been taken by bots.
I dont know any powerful opensource/lightweight alternative for this purpose.
Even i update centos to 6.9 in the VM and tried to get a clean system, so it will a good thing, to block any traffic to the 'WAN' (any) in this described way..

Not sure why anyone would buy one of those other than to play.  Its obviously not ready for prime time.  Beta at best.

I think I'm having the same issue with a flaky DSL modem – but registering a SIP trunk with Grandstream PBX (which is an Asterisk flavor).

I'm not sure that I understood the previous (last) reply: write the script and then call it as the last line in ppp-reconnect?  Does that work for a DHCP WAN connection too?  It's confusing to me that this is the only location (out of 16) that has this problem.

If YES, then just restart PHP-FPM.

Use different subnets first.

10.0.1.0/24 for servers for example
192.168.1.0/24 for client workstations.

Only open up ports between 10.0.1.0/24 and 192.168.1.0/24 that are required for communication between the clients and the applications on the servers.

You'll need a layer 2/3 switch at each location to manage your VLANs and/or the subnets.

When you say turn off, you mean disabled or with no sessions?

yes i disabled openvpn and the v6 box downloaded the epg no problem, I am having to do this every week in order to keep it working, but it would be great if I didn't have to!

you can try it with untagged vlans and see if what kind of difference that makes if any.

It was a 64bit before and after I downloaded and installed it on a USB pen drive for installing again it is working now.

It looks like the gateway on the interface was my problem. I created a gateway by itself and set 10.0.0.0/8 to point to it; now I can get the the firewall from anywhere on my LAN. I also made sure all my networks are permitted in NAT. Now I just need to "get an outage window approved" (this is at home :-D) for testing.
