Even this is not harmful for now. You can report it on FreeBSD but i already know about it and i maintain(partially) the pf(4) code in freebsd.

In my testing it made very little difference on ALIX, and came out poorer in some tests. However, if you want to check something, try this: # sysctl kern.polling.idle_poll kern.polling.idle_poll: 0 If that is 0, try changing it to 1: # sysctl kern.polling.idle_poll=1 kern.polling.idle_poll: 0 -> 1 Then re-run your test and see if it is any different. If it's 1, try setting it to 0.

@cmb: The way you're accessing the modem is probably the easiest way to do it, add another interface. Yes, fourth NIC - Solves this problem.. thanks :) When you say the Internet doesn't work until clicking Save on system.php, saving that page does a lot of things. What do you see before you click Save there, when the Internet doesn't work, if you go to Status > Interfaces? Status: Interfaces WAN interface (rl0) Status    up PPPoE    up   IP address    95.55.38.231   Subnet mask    255.255.255.255 Gateway    78.37.192.1 ISP DNS servers    213.158.7.2 212.48.193.37 LAN interface (vr0) Status    up MAC address    00:19:5b:3e:3c:12 IP address    192.168.11.1   Subnet mask    255.255.255.0 Media    100baseTX <full-duplex>WIFI interface (rl1) Status    up MAC address    00:80:48:42:8c:9b IP address    192.168.12.1   Subnet mask    255.255.255.0 Media    100baseTX <full-duplex>PPPOELOCAL interface (rl0) Status    up MAC address    00:e0:52:01:02:50 IP address    192.168.10.2   Subnet mask    255.255.255.0 Gateway    10 192.168.10.1 Media    100baseTX <full-duplex>==================================== After click "Save" -  the same. I think a problem in the bridge and PPPoE.. Or the reason - "PPPOELOCAL interface (rl0)"  is added not with Pfsense WEB.. otherwise -  by change config.xml then configuration restoration..</full-duplex></full-duplex></full-duplex>

We might be able to hack around it using something in /tmp/post_upgrade_command if the kernel module is always named the same.

Today with snap of Sun Feb 21 05:56:33 EST 2010 restore of parts fail completely. No restore occurs, but no error on the pages seen. The netstat-messages have gone. console-output on serial port still fails into shell. Not a big clue. But with update from Feb 20 beginning I have had several kernel-panics, next time I'll take shots and send in. Its not more necessaryy to save on /system.php.

Might be reasonable, not too sure. You might want to open a feature request in redmine for that http://redmine.pfsense.org I thought there was a ticket for the link being messed up, I thought someone had already fixed it, or thought they fixed it.

FWIW - I got impatient waiting for a new auto-update snapshot to be available so I attempted the gitsync.  That kinda hosed my pfsense box ;-) So, I decided to start fresh with a new install from livecd using build 2010-02-19 04:18 On a fresh install using that build, the NAT reflection now works properly. Thank you pfSense dudes! -Phil

[Solved] Installed a new Intel PWLA8391GT PCI NIC ($33.00). Re-installed Feb 16 Beta 2.0 build and configured for VLAN's. Now getting 70 mbps sustained from Server -> Cisco 3750 (100 meg) -> Cisco 3550 (100 meg)-> pfSense (100 meg) OPT1 VLAN100 on 3550 -> Server on OPT2 VLAN200 on 3550 Did not need to add any tweaks to advanced settings and here is the Cisco config for those interested: Cisco 3550 (Old ass switch) interface FastEthernet0/1 switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,100,200,300,400,1001-1005 switchport mode trunk switchport nonegotiate spanning-tree portfast trunk spanning-tree bpdufilter enable This switch config provides the cleanest and fast re-converge time.
