Interesting setup. The two DSL lines are bonded in the Cisco modem? I wonder what sort of bridge mode might be possible with such a setup. pfSense supports ML-PPP, which I imagine is what the Cisco box is doing, but you'd need two bridged modems to use it. Anyway that's further down the line. If you set it up initially as you suggested you should be good.

I'm failing to see what possible reason there would be to running an ADSL modem/router just to provide DHCP.  ???

    Hi thanks for replying..

I've gone through many threads about squid & multi wan.. everyone say to add a floating rule and add "tcp_outgoing_address 127.0.0.1" in squid custom options (I've already done that). But i'm still facing the same issue.. Please help!!

For adding more information.. i'm currently using pfsense version 2.1-RC0 (i386).

Yes I should have read your first post more closely.
pfSense does not expect to see more than one disk so there's no option to do this from the webgui. There are a number of threads detailing peoples experiences with similar setups though. A number of people have used a second drive for a Squid cache when running from a flash drive primarily. Not sure about Snort but I expect it can be done with some manual tweaking.

Cleared up quite a bit then.  ;)
Interesting, I haven't used IE for so long I haven't seen those issues. I seem to remember reading that using an alternative browser was recommended but I can't find it now. I agree that information should be clearer if that's the level of problems that it causes.

You are running the server on the LAN interface. You haven't shown which interface is connected to the Sonicwall but if that is also on LAN it's unlikely the pfSense box has a route back to the client.
If the Sonicwall box is on the pfSense WAN (it probably should be) why aren't you running the openvpn server on WAN?

    Hi Stephen,

Yes, that was a typo. Thanks for pointing it out.

Again tonight, I modified SG's config (added a domain to the target categories) like I do probably 10 times a week, and the router stopped working.  Severe HDD activity, router not responding, websites stopping loading, etc  >:( >:( >:(

Now my VOIP depends on pfsense.  That cant continue.

I have posted the output of ps -A before, and it showed way too many SG  processes… now there are havp processes as well... Im wondering which package needs to be overhauled?

If someone can give me instruction on what to do to help the devs solve this ongoing situation, so be it.  Im willing to do tests and troubleshoot but unfortunately Im not advanced enough in coding to solve the issue alone.

2.1-RC as it is now, is nearly ready to be released. As in weeks away. There is nothing to fear by running it.

You can upgrade from RC to RELEASE when it comes out if you want.

dok I am not in need of your arrogance. Sorry that i didn't notice the 2mm by 2mm CIDR drop down.  Forums are for helping others, not for condescending people for no reason.

Stephenw thank you for your kind and helpful response.

Yeah - virutalization can help with the hardware you have.
But avoiding incompatible hardware in the future is best.

    @Ramosel:

    Have you tried the AMD64?

I know this has been a while, but I did try AMD64 on these and it hangs on those too. I'm guessing these boxes just aren't going to work.

I was able to make a full CD live disk install on a usb stick some time ago and it worked fine.  I'm pretty sure I used an linux utility in the ubuntu repos to do it.  Its been a while.  (Actually - must have been a windows pen drive utility because unetbootin doesn't work)

    I'm wondering…  You didn't do a full install?
